A good thing to be wrong about - when elitists complain about deathcore, I always point to The Acacia Strain as an example of the genre at its most powerful and innovative.

I’ve finally started to delve into their discography recently. I didn’t care for them many years ago but thought “screw it”. I will say I enjoyed their first album a lot but afterwards I found it kind of a slog to get through their next couple albums. Idk just didn’t resonate with me to the point where I about stopped in the middle of Continent. I remember hearing excellent reviews from friends about Death is the Only Mortal. OMG that was fantastic. Coma Witch. OMG fantastic. Graveblood. OMG fantastic. It Only Comes in Waves. OMG fantastic. Slow Decay. Pretty damn good. I guess it’s the atmospheric, evocative, introspective, and heavy route I preferred way more. The albums I didn’t care for did have some songs I enjoyed but eh. I will say I find Death Is The Only Mortal is my favorite but god damn everything else afterwards is bloody fantastic. I’ve yet to hear the latest singles as of today but I’m looking forward to it!

I liked this album. Man I'm like the only metalhead.. the only black metalhead guy in my town. It's a diverse town. People can dress like fairies or elfs and its ok, but as soon as they see me with my metal vest and shirt on their like, *wait, that's illegal* man it seems the only place I can feel safe is online in my metal community, or at a cemetery listening to dsbm, or Opeth.

Thanks for the review Man! Pretty Good record like the experimentation 👌🏾. Check out the new albums from Gulch, Envy, and Haken. Also I've been trying to get Intronaut and it gets pretty intense but some how I really want to keep coming back. Have a great day bro!

Pretty Cool, The Acacia Strain is Awesome, this band seems to only get better as they experiment. They are definitely releasing more and more interesting stuff than some of their competition in Deathcore except for Whitechapel. Overall this is really Good 9/10

I'd be willing to give a little bit of credit to Carnifex as well, their last couple albums have been so fuckin' E V I L, but even then, its still a small list of innovative deathcore bands in which The Acacia Strain are still at the top.

Slow decay isn't my favorite album, but it does go hard. I gotta say Chhinnamasta is my favorite track, and to me Solace and Serenity is honestly the darkest one on the album...but that's just me. A funny thing that I think about is that each of the latter five albums is a better yet darker version of the previous...altho I'm not really into Death Is the Only Mortal & It Comes in Waves. I do really like Coma Witch, Gravebloom (which to me is like Coma Witch 2.0 haha), and Slow Decay, but I actually like the former 5 albums more, especially The Dead Walk, which is my favorite outta the whole band. In any case, I'm glad I listen to these guys! 👌🙏

I hated this album most cause it had a lot of guest vocals and I’m not big on those but after “the lucid dream” the album has its better sound and Jess Nyx sounds like a annoying chipmunk
