One of the best shows going. Gary Oldman is brilliant in it. Who needs a James Bond when you have a Jackson Lamb.

Gary's entrances have become epic. In Tinker Tailor he is on screen for a long time before even speaking, acting with looks and body language alone. In Slow Horses he farts sooo loud he wakes himself up! Brilliant!

I love these actors playing these characters - brilliant! We can’t lose SID for good!,she did get shot in the head - but they wrote it so she was untraceable - no funeral etc…. I really hope they bring her back in this next season - she & Jack are perfect together. They’ve got a gem in “Standish” character - she is brilliant & a perfect match w/ Gary Oldman’s character - Lamb. All of them are the best - can’t wait for season 3

Fabulous scrips, fabulous acting, making people happy all around the world. Plus, I had just recently watched Jack Lowden in War and Peace where he did a bang up job. And, I’ve been a fan of Gary Oldman’s for years. His Dracula movie is brilliant. (PJ in USA)

I just discovered this marvelous falderal last week! 🤯 Love it. I CARE about all these characters, that’s the difference (whereas I care for only a couple in James Bond). Am listening to Slough House, we call it “sluff” in America, like sluffing off dead skin. 😂 The slow horses are the dead skin. I (re)watched Tinker Tailor twice this weekend just to see Gary O. in all his glory as Smiley. I would love to hear Saskia’s mother’s relationship to food (she mentioned it in another YT clip). I’m so happy Sid has appeared again. ✊🏻✊🏻

I'm gonna guess Jack is Scottish and River isn't. Mick Herron's books are delicious and funny, and seeing how the show's writers have translated his stories to the screen means I'm going to be reading the books all over again. And then watching the shows again. Good stuff.

Jackson Lamb, slow house operations manager within the "slow horses" , is a Seasoned powerful personality and ..., and, and,....etc.,,, ⚠ But, why does he have to be a Smoker !!! ..., And if this character had not appeared without smoking, would that have diminished the strength of the character in any way!!!..., I believe that: No,... he would also have remained with the same strength, acumen and skill, WITHOUT smoking!!!... ** Therefore, a Special Request from - Messrs. Directors or Producers - of any dramatic work, if there is “Any Possibility” to complete the work without smoking scenes (and in my humble opinion, I believe it is possible...), all appreciation and thanks to them... Because some people - especially young one - (unfortunately) are tempted by cinema and drama with “glamorous” “attractive” scenes that contain smoking! They rush to imitate this dangerous matter!!! 🔬* * Scientifically , smoking, in all its forms, is cigar, cigarette, hookah, or even passive smoking! It leads to slow and difficult blood flow - adequately - within the various arteries of the body - and not just the arteries of the heart - as smoking increases the viscosity of the blood,... And the benefit of blood to the body's organs is Not Only the delivery of food and oxygen!, but blood also Contains "White Blood Cells", which are responsible for immunity !!! , We can imagine the amount of risks that any organ in the body may face, without a “sufficient degree” of immunity, against: various diseases or against oxidant substances, or the so-called carcinogenic free radicals , which are present almost “regularly” in the bodies of all people. ..!!! Of course, this is in addition to the damage resulting from the products of combustion itself, from carbon and otherwise... And there are many other harmful effects of smoking that would take a long time to explain. * *There are tips 👍✊that have helped others to quit smoking, including :- * The Will and desire to train to "hate" smoking or even its appearance! * Keep three things constantly busy, “especially at the beginning of quitting smoking”: "Hands" - "Mouth" - and "Thinking", ; * Hands and mouth, for example: eating green parsley, or rosted seeds (but in reasonable quantities daily according to healthy nutritional advice for each person), or , other means... * Also “thinking”: about what things make a person preoccupied with smoking... ** Also, staying away “as much as possible” from people who smoke, ...and preferably the opposite, getting closer to people who have quit smoking!... Sorry for length ... All respect and appreciation ... And Thaaanks ALOT

Who are the casting / script writing idiots who think that Jackson Lamb is a cocky Essex boy, judging by Oldman's estuary accent? Lamb is obviously a smartarse former public schoolboy, who just about made it through Oxbridge before being (probably) being sent down just after being recruited by MI5 before he graduated. No one else would have the confidence to be so insolent, the intelligence, vocabulary and ironic wit to convey his level of contempt for everyone else, while obviously being too lazy to only extend himself when his own little fiefdom is threatened. Also, why does Oldman's Lamb dress like a failed middle aged hipster?
@pepechen Жыл бұрын
Seen the 2nd season, pretty good but to be excellent it shouldn't end so well and with so much action. Please! you're Brits!, show some respect to the master, Le Carre I mean, rely a bit more on understatement, cynicism and the intellectual struggle right to the end, felt it let itself go at the end. And no, the cynical power-play at the top doesn't do it for me, that's cliched. So, really good but a bit cheesy towards the end. The archive-bound ugly know-all is the too-obvious Le Carre bit, so no, that doesn't do it for me neither. Also, the Asian asshole is so over the top, you can't plausibly be such a dick, not even in that context, it's actually seditious. And can Gary's character wash sometimes? becasue if he never does that is overdoing it too, maybe after visiting a Turkish bath to pick up some intel? You can be sloppy and still be clean sometimes. The characters are too cliched, again the understatement fails, a cardinal sin for a Brit. You can be a bit more ambitious by being bit more serious sometimes, it might actually work. Gary, your character is exactly what Seymor Hoffman did in A Most Wanted Man but his was serious. You know, a bit of fear, vertigo, and doubt instead of unassailable cockiness, for a change. A bit of that would make this series just perfect.
@andrewthegraciouslordrober327 Жыл бұрын
Agree - mostly. Perhaps worth making the point that Le Carré didn't have any involvement in this, and is now dead, However, I agree about Oldman's portrayal of Lamb. So many things don't chime with how he reads in the novels, and Oldman playing him as a cocky Essex wideboy ..... is just WRONG !!!!! Such a person would not have Lamb's wit, or self confidence / arrogance / contempt for colleagues and superiors. That could only come from an education via certain private schools and then Oxbridge in the UK. I haven't seen the Series, only clips on KZbin, but they are enough for me to not want to see any more .

It would be great if they had a fantasy episode of some kind that allowed the character of Drexel from “True Romance” to pop in to Britain. “It ain’t white boy day!”
