Jim Docherty, I'm 5'-4" and I use the exact same technique. i ride an ultra classic and I also find that this makes Life a whole lot easier. We need to hear from more short riders, thanks .

Bernardo- I started learning, low speed, motorcycle technique at about the same time you did. I have followed you through your journey, and I must say, I am very, very impressed! Your discipline, humility, humor, and excellent advice are awesome! I have subscribed to your channel, and I make sure to watch every video you shoot. Tomorrow I am doing my second RLAP class in Colorado with one of Jerry’s instructors. Like you, I am short, but I make up for it by being bald. I’m thinking about buying a police seat, but I’m not sure how comfortable they are on long rides. Keep making those videos! You rock!

I'm 5'7 and you just eliminated my worries about getting a road king with 12 hangers at that. Shorter riders need to see more content like this. I like that lid also! Thanks!!

Next week, I am adding 12 inch mini ape hangers to my road king special.

With respect to practice drills, everyone should scoot forward more when doing slow speed maneuvers. Even if you have long arms like me. If you sit way back, generally, you're working a lot harder and exhausting yourself. Watch the police and civilian rodeo videos and you'll see tall guys up near the tank. Some are lazy and sit back....and I guarantee you they don't win. lol You're fighting your body and the bike when you sit casual/comfortable. Here's a tip for you. Judging solely from the engine sounds in this video (I could be wrong) as you approach your turns, it sounds like you're letting gravity doing the work just as you start the bike leaning and then you add power immediately after. This will cause you to drop the bike. Set up on approach, BEFORE you lean and always stay there. What I mean is, stay in the friction zone the entire time and add throttle before you lean/turn. Power into your leans/turns. As you know, if you're properly in the friction zone, the bike will rev but won't take off or launch on you. Use that power.

Good to know. Friction zone is definitely something I need to keep working on. On this day I was at a lot that is a slight hill. So sometimes I'm going way too fast while sometimes the bike slows down. So I use throttle when needed in this case. Consistent speed is more of an issue for me when not practicing on an even plane.

You got skills Bernie. And that parking is perfect for what you are doing. It makes the flat parking lots a lot easier to do this.

Nice. That's why police bikes have a tractor seat. Keep practicing buddy, I do appreciate seeing more riders doing the motojitsu system.
