Your method of drawing the hexagon is wonderful. Sooooo much easier than using a pair of compasses. Thanks 🙏 so much for sharing. Love it….

Wow you really took Emma's technique and ran with it! So unique. We drove 1200 miles to south Florida and back and I made a whole bag of these. I wanted to make a garden quilt and went through my fabric and pulled out all my florals and found some at the thrift. It is about twin sized now but my daughter said she just found me some fabric in the Goodwill bins so when I get that I'll keep going. I quilted mine with all different colors of embroidery floss.

Wow I’m impressed that you can stitch in the car. I can’t do anything other than listen to music or audiobooks. It sounds like your quilt will be beautiful

@@mistikomakes You kind of set me back though. After watching your video I had to go back and add lots more embroidery to my pieces!! But I'm not even mad, it looks better!

I did this too. I made a halloween quilt with 3" hexagons. It took me four months to finish it. I sewed them during all of those zoom meetings for work.😂

My daughter made herself a quilt while she was doing her university classes all on line. I amused myself by drawing the other people in the meetings - it looked like I was taking notes

My cutting suggestion for you is to open your scissors so you cut with the entire blade...you may find it easier & there will be less "choppy" edges!!! As a Retired RN, when teaching patients to cut the adhesive part of their ostomy backings, the cut edge was very smooth...so there were no sharps points. Often, there was a pair of scissors with left curved blades in tbe beginner's kit, which made the circle easier to cut, as no one's ostomy is a perfect circle, even months after surgery & the swelling goes away. I have seen larger bladed left curved scissors on-line...intended for dog grooming, I believe. Many possibilities. Ugh, math...but great technique to show us how to make our own hexi's, any chosen size!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately the left handed scissors don’t work for me either. I’ve learned to let go of any need for perfectionism. Some people cut well with scissors and others find math easy. We all have our quirks

I say it's magical, too.I made some crazy quilt type patches with embroidery embelishment quite a few years ago. I never did anything with them, but they are fun to look at when I stumble upon them. Maybe it is time to add to the collection. Your videos are always interesting and help me acknowledge that perfection is not required.
