That blanket stitch along the blue was quite clever - - quite striking. Having grown up on the coast, I was surprised to find that I actually knew more about seagulls than I would have ever expected. Of course, the little town in the middle of the peninsula was a tourist town, so I saw a lot of seagulls on store shelves ... when you changed the color on your seagull's beak, I remembered the seagull decorations that were abundant as I was growing up. Imagine my surprise when we moved east of the mountains and found seagulls rather abundant in the high desert. I didn't know that they went that far inland ... I think our ranch was about two miles from the ocean - - the only time we actually saw seagulls flying in the sky on the ranch was if there was a storm out in the ocean. Your art provided me with many memories that I had forgotten, having lived east of the mountains for almost forty years! These little mental trips are sort of fun! Oh ... I forgot to tell you that when I saw the seagull decorations, the thing I remembered the most was how orange their beaks they were. What they look like in real life, I couldn't tell you! I think we take a lot for granted as we live our lives ... so much to see, so much to consider, and we discount most of it, I think.

Very nice! I especially love the gull. Fun fact:. There are 54 different species of gulls. I wonder what species your gull is?
@cookingjennfer8 ай бұрын
I didn’t know that! All the ones around here look the same. 😊
@SSandtheRVCats8 ай бұрын
@@cookingjennfer yeah they do kind of look the same, don't they. In the Buffalo NY area we generally only have two kinds, one is called Ring-Billed Gull because they have a brown ring on their bills. The other is called a Herring Gull which is bigger than the Ring-Billed. It's pretty fascinating to go to different areas and see different ones.

QUESTION what kind of thread do you use suggest for hand stitching instead of embroidery floss? polyester or cotton/polyester or 100% cotton or does it matter?
@cookingjennfer8 ай бұрын
I use any thread. A lot of what I have is thrifted so I’m not even sure what some of it’s made of or what the colour number is. If I like the look of something I’ll use it. Use what you have. 😊
