I started work on another hand stitched scroll. This one is inspired by a visit to the Osler Library of the History of Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
I'm also working on a "make along" scroll with an underwater theme. If you'd like to join in on the fun and make your very own completely unique one-of-a-kind hand stitched scroll along with me, I'm hosting a series of monthly make along lessons for subscribers to my Ko-Fi page starting in January 2023 You can find all the details here: ko-fi.com/mist...

A friend from New Zealand who is a very talented person in many mediums directed me to this video. Your scrollwork is absolutely fabulous. This library sounds fascinating as well. Thank you for sharing and I'm off to check out the undersea scroll video now :)

I so appreciate your work as an artist video maker. It is incredibly inspiring. lovely channel or whatever these things are called. I volunteer as a librarian at church and thought what a great idea. We don't have those categories at church but the idea is still useable. thank you!

Thank you so much. I don't think most libraries have these types of books! I'm sure you could do something really lovely with the resources available to you.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It isn't finished yet.I got distracted with other things (you know, squirrel). Right now I'm working on the very middle section with a tiger and a lamb inspired by the poems of William Blake

Wow. I'm blown away by the books in the university's collection. (My daughter is a librarian but working in a city library.) I love the theme of this scroll - if not all the medical details that were inspiration! I have at least 3 scrolls in progress currently. So far only one has a definite theme, although themes may develop in the others as I continue working on them. Please continue to share your stitching journeys with us here on YT! And Happy New Year!

It really is an incredible collection. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I was only there for a few hours and I was completely overwhelmed. Making this scroll is a way for me to process some of the things I saw. I agree, some of the medical details are difficult, especially from our 21st century perspective.
