Slow stitching and embroidery video tutorials for beginners and onwards.
Join Louise from Eleanor Grace, a British Textile Artist based in Wiltshire, near the beautiful Georgian city of Bath. With occasional guest appearances from Ella, my senior black cat 🐈‍⬛️ 😅
Louise creates heirloom pieces including journals and teaches embroidery and slow stitching courses, both in person and virtually, wherever possible using vintage, reclaimed or recycled materials, inspired by nature.
Celebrate the mindful and meditative benefits of taking some time out for yourself, to mindfully enjoy slow stitching and other embroidery techniques, to make beautiful textile collages.
Louise specialises in teaching beginners and intermediate level stitchers who may have little or no experience and want to get started on their stitching journey.
This video introduces you to making the two different styles of Suffolk Puff (sometimes known as YoYos), a heritage craft from the east of England, dating back to at least 1600.

Apologies for dropping the camera part-way through and knocking out the alignment! At some time I'll re-record this one! 😂

Here in the USA, I always worked on the outside of the circle. Sometimes I have folded over a tiny edge so I had a smooth gathering of the circle. I guess it all depends on personal preference and regional tastes. Thanks for sharing your technique.

Thank you! For my version, I'm going with the Suffolk Puff version, and a slow stitch non-perfectionist vibe, which is hard, as I'm a perfectionist at heart!

Even professional cameramen and women on Gardeners World, sometimes allow the action to drop off screen. We see a smiling Monty Don or Rachel smiling back at us, describing what their hands are doing ....off camera. It's a mystery!😂😊

I'm new to slow stitching. Can you finish off on the back side if you are going to stitch them to something because it won't show?
@EleanorGraceEmbroidery
@EleanorGraceEmbroidery 3 ай бұрын
Yes, you could do, I tend to finish them as normal and then stitch them on. You could knot them off and leave the thread attached and stitch straight onto your piece 😊
