Woah...That Funk to Jazz rhythmic pattern - cross - over - mind - warp, is the stuff dreams are made of! I never put it together that way in my mind...I hear it!! Thanks Professor Davis!

Surprise surprise :-) It’s all related and it’s important that we relate them in our minds so we don’t think so differently when we play different styles. Cheers!

You always blow me away with some new ideas! This time is the idea of thinking in up tempo as if you're playin funk.... One can hear it so clearly with Jack DeJohnette's playing as you mentioned (for example So What with George Benson) Once again a big thank you and many greetings from Croatia! 🥁🤗 Pavle

Dude this is by far my favorite video from you. You have no idea how much it has helped me out in my feel, especially separating the differences in physical movement for each style! Also, love the funk connection in the uptempo section. Keep being awesome man, you're a real inspiration!

Another superb lesson, thank you. Walking the dog now!
Very cool lesson! Do you find that your vocabulary changes as the tempos increase? I found that triplet and 16th note ideas go out the window a bit in favour of more 8th note ideas.
@drumqtips10 ай бұрын
Yes it does! Maybe I'll do a video on soloing at these different tempos. Thanks for the idea!
