There's more to being successful than speed. Defenses are getting faster as well. The new HB position in the NFL is a hybrid between the Original HB and the original FB. You need speed,agility, and raw strength now to be a successful HB. The faster guys don't usually have the strength, and the stronger guys don't have the speed. If you can't be an every down back these days you won't make it in the NFL. Speed is more important now because defensive lineman and linebackers are fast as fuck. But if you can't knock over a DB you aren't longed for the NFL.

@@8hunnidbands as a college freshman sitting in my apartment wishing I could play football again, take my advice man, don’t take workouts for granted, maintain a good diet at home, and really watch and try to understand film. I was pretty naturally talented and was 1st team all district and 1st team all county without doing those things but in the long run it screwed me over. If you workout hard and make sure you do it right, and have a good diet you’ll gain weight/muscle no problem and not loose speed at the same time and your endurance will get better. I hope your injuries slow down because that was a major issue for me also.
