I love Slowking, especially the one in the 2nd movie. It has some of the funniest lines in the whole franchise. Just standing in the middle of a blizzard and suddenly, "I could use pants."

I remember Slowking from the talking one in Pokémon 2000. But because you had to trade it , I never got to use one.

For Pokémon with natural counterparts, it'd be fun to get your thoughts on their relative strengths and weaknesses. I never ran a Slowking back in the day, and would have been curious to hear whether you expected a better time from Slowking vs. Slowbro and why. Also a kudos on the quippy names you've got for the various sub-series (End of the Line, Generation Gap, etc.). Each one is a great little touch.

to be fair Slowking in gen 2 is a lot better than Slowbro. It has the same stats as Slowbro but Slowpokes moveset. So it gets most moves a lot earlier than Slowbro. They should play similarly but Slowbro would have weaker moves for most of Johto (except for surf ofc)

Thanks, Grant! I've got something in the works as a monthly(ish) little extra video where I'm going to go through and analyse the runs we've done together over the last four weeks or so. It's still in planning stage, but I reckon it could fill the void left by the shorter edits.

With split evos how do you decide what is the end of the line? Just the newer, or are you going to do Slowbro at a later time? (would also be interested in Poliwrath and Politoed.)

Slowbro's coming out in a couple of weeks' time! Both of them are the End of the Line in this instance!

With your admission to not realizing the icepunch option did traveling to the lake of rage to get hidden power TM change your routing vs if you planned to use ice punch?

I needed to pop up there to get the Rare Candy regardless, and I normally grab the Elixer, so it didn't change the routing too much :)

If you saw that Slowking had learned Ice Punch what HP type would you have given Slowking? IMO I think Electric would have been good so that Slowking could have had a quasi-version of the Boltbeam combo. But overall the HP type is your choice since YOU are the one playing the run.

I haven't given it too much thought, but gut instinct says either Dark, Electric, or Grass!
