Was an absolutely great competition. They need to score runs differently. Pulling together all those tricks is a very different skillset and type of skating than throwing down hammers in the single trick. I feel like they should go back to two runs, and then average those into a single score or take the best one, and then take your three best scores from best trick. Eliminating that score just makes me wonder why it's even in. I do love the two extra attempts at the end for the top four. Definitely made for a more dramatic ending.
@mclarensaleenf73 жыл бұрын
100% agree about the run scoring. I say two runs with a minimum of one counting toward the final score. It is now 3 single tricks that wins the contest which is total bs. Nyjah is one of the few that actually put in a beast run because it used to be important (and always should be).
@pietateip3 жыл бұрын
jep made this comment so many times and so many people agree that I wonder why they havent changed it yet. But the judges score the runs with no standard at all, there is no difference in doing 10 or 20 tricks in a run, but bail once and you're f'd... (I like the top 4 extra best trick though. )

For real. They say the judges are unbiased, but that's just not accurate. 16:05 Hoefler has an amazing run, falls at the end, and gets a 6.5. 17:30 Ribeiro has an arguably even more amazing run, falls at the end, gets a 6.3. Nyjah falls before the buzzer at 21:25 and he gets a freakin 8.9.. Granted it wasn't a major trick that he bailed on, but still I'd like to see any other skater have a bail in their run and still get an 8.9. As clean and consistent as Jamie Foy (9:03) is on rails, he also gets rated questionably high. I mean he throws a single flip trick in his run, a sketchy one at that, and gets a 7.4. Again, I'd like to see any other skater do a run that consists of nearly only rail tricks, and see what kind of score the judges give him. Don't get me wrong, I love all these dudes, they're all incredible in their own right. My point is that the judges don't hold everyone to the same standard. Ribeiro had to fight like fucking hell to earn that gold.

@@nedtempleton4873 no such thing as a fs over crook. Do a long fs nose grind on a round rail and you will know why.

Gustavo always been destroying the competition, great to see him get a deserved win and beat Nyjah at his best. Especially after seeing Gustavo take a slam and was not able to compete at his last event, to come back from that accident and win shows his determination and he must've put in so much training since then. It paid off for Gustavo, he got a lot of 9 club tricks if he lands them he can compete with the best of the best like nyjah, yuto, kelvin, shane o'neil, etc..
