@@plague6592 Isekai is not about rebirth, it is about going to a different world (which often involves rebirth but not always). That still means that frieren is not an isekai though. Mic_glow migth have meant that so many fantasy shows beeing isekai and normaly following a rather cookie cutter and stale formula, having a non isekai fantasy show that is actually good beeing refreshing. (or not, what do I know^^)

I can give an answer, probably wrong, but still. Whimsical music, hits unfathomably hard, because it illustrates the absolute badassery of the character. To the character, this is just play, hence the whimsey.
