Been watching your videos. It is so refreshing to watch a youtube video that ISN"T just another amazon infomercial. Press on!

That's exactly how it is. Over the years, a balance occurs, there are more predators to keep the pests in check. And I have also found that the extremely good growth conditions with the Ruth Stout method compensate for the losses caused by snails, etc.!

I have been watching your videos to find away for my garden with less work. I'm in my 60's and just can't keep up with the watering and weeding anymore. Thank you so much for your knowledge and experience. I have hay everywhere now. Hopefully after a few years this will really work for me. So far the slugs are my biggest problem on the young plants. I'll have to catch some toads to put in the garden. lol

Thank you so much for this video! We are in year one and everything that we have planted (except for our tomatoes) seems to be getting eaten up with bugs and it has been a bit discouraging, but we know that we are in it for that long term and that this year would likely provide a low yield.

I'm glad the information is helping! I would definitely hate to have people give up on gardening because of the work entailed. Best of luck as our gardens continue, and fingers crossed you find those toads ;)

Does permaculture use any of the old standby garden solutions to slugs like woodash sprinkled around?

You could, but I don't have any experience with it

Do raspberries and strawberries spread through the mulch?
@frenchiepowell4 жыл бұрын
Definitely, it'll spread over top the mulch, and set the roots from the runners down through the mulch itself. Our strawberries have really loved the mulch! Same thing with raspberries as well to be honest.

@@frenchiepowell thank you very much. Another question as this is my first year. This fall just drop dead plants on top of hay? Really have enjoyed your vids, and love my stout garden!!!

My apologies, I don't have any fancy equipment or mics to speak into. So some videos are easier to hear and others are harder :/
