Thanks Phil, the bead allows fishing under an indicator which I used with a chironomid dropper. I fished this combo for stockers in a Colorado lake near me and they went crazy for it. I feel little guilty using it so I told myself I'll only use it when they're off the feed. :)

With the color, shape, and translucency it would make an excellent egg pattern which we fish here in the PNW. The salmon are starting to spawn and the steelhead stack up below the beds gorging themselves. Though using a different material, this fly is nearly identical to one I tie and fish. I will have to find some Slush Jelly and give it go. Thanks.

Steve Yes it should Steve. Che k out the product links in the description below the video for where you can find Slush Jelly.

Love it, simple and effective. Your tying area looks like a store I go to

What color would imitate zooplankton in Montanas Hebgen lake and Idahos Henry's lake?
@PhilRowleyFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Connie, great question. It all depends on the various species. Most zooplankton I have seen are shades of orange, pink, red, and green. Washed-out colors often work well and then there are days that vivid fluorescent colors perform. I have a good cross-section of colors in my box. Cheers, Phil

Some say Phil doesn't own a tv. There is no room from all the tying material.

Do you vary the bead color at all? Copper? Chartruse?
@PhilRowleyFlyFishing4 жыл бұрын
Hi Reed, yes you can vary both the body and bead colors all you want. I have used fluorescent pink, chartreuse, and hot orange beads, all with good results. Cheers, Phil

The material looks similar to Eggstasy - I wonder if it might work for this pattern? Anyone tired it?
@PhilRowleyFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, Eggstasy is very similar I believe to Slush Jelly. They would all work well. Cheers, Phil
