Today, if you want to go by boat from Östersjön (Baltic Sea) to the lake Mälaren, or vice versa, you have to use the locks at Skanstull (2km?) or Södertälje (40 km?). This lock will actually open in 2027. Maybe its not as finished as it looks!? Generally there is a time span when swedish locks are open and there is no fee. Just go there and the thing will open in due time…

Thank you Daniel for yet another nice walk! Now the guys with bright-yellow-green or orange trosers and jackets have left and the stone is there now it is time for the guys with green fingers.. BTW it looks like there are many waterlocks, but of the three streams, it is only the middle one that is a real lock, the others are for letting water out (or in but that is very rare) from lake Mälaren to the baltic sea, like from winters snowfall or autumns rainfalls.. The new waterlocks are opening late autumn this year, and I don't think they are trough planning how queueing or booking should be made, it is a bit different than it was in the old lock, they had no bridges for walkers or cycklist's. I have travelled in a boat once in the 70-s from Mälaren to the Baltic sea and we just queued up and had to wait for a bit (being a teenager it was quite a bit for me).. The world is getting more complicated and IT solutions more close to users, so I guess you might have to book a slot in advance, in the future.

It looks nice, I was there Saturday and Sunday, and it was way more people out and about then. But they need to mark out the still unmarked bike path before any scary accident happen.

One important thing that is not ready built yet is the stairway up to the south side. When that's ready you won't need the gold-bridge' to walk from Old Town to Södermalm.

Bein' an ol' Stockholmer (nowadays live in the Countryside) this footage is from like another planet. Gentrification... But, looks decent compared to my expectations. Let's hope it becomes a social area in an organic way 🍀 Otherwise I personally liked the ol' 'Four leaf Clover' Slussen more than this

All that fresh wood must smell amazingly good. Especially in the warm sun light. I wonder how long it will last. Was the glass art 🎶under the bridge 🎶 from Kosta Boda, the famous Swedish glass company? Could the different color vests on construction sites mean that these people are superior to the others, or maybe architects, planers etc? I was a teenager in the 90s, so I do love the Red hot 🌶️😊 and I now probably have an earworm for the rest of the evening. Thanks. 😂

Slussen is a travesty... so ugly... the modernists are destroying our beutiful city. And the new slussen is so badly planned. Its open och nothing blocking the wind. The arcitect did not think practically at all in there design sadly. Will not age well... And it does not bland well with the classic arcitecture around it that gives the area its true beuty... why don't they build that stile anymore? Ideologi... sadly....
@letswalkaroundstockholm3 ай бұрын
Yeah in general i agree with you. The modern way of building is horrible. But I do like the calmness when you walk down there. And it will look nicer ones the trees arrive actually.
