"How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold."
Lord of the Rings is an important franchise. It made so many people childhoods, inspired many stories. I do believe that without these wonderful books and movies, we would not have as many stories around today. The movies are massive, I had to chose what to explore and obviously had to let some stuff behind.
I hope you guys will enjoy it.

"For frodo" It's just such a powerful line. Aragorn doesn't know if frodo is alive or not, but with that line, he shows that whatever has happened, he will always support frodo, that he'll stand by him(for him) forever. Such a beautiful line.

It's unfortunate they put the Hobbit through the wringer just to make a much money as possible. What could have been a fun prequel (1 or 2 films max) got dragged out to 3 trying way too hard to be as epic as LOTR. Proportionately, if the Hobbit is 3 films, LOTR needs to be 6-9 films. That's just not reasonable.

"In his heart, Frodo begins to understand, the quest will claim his life." I notice that almost everyone disregards this line in the end because, well he doesn't really die.. does he? But that's not the point. When you think about it.. once the war was over, once the ring was destroyed and the evil of Sauron along with it.... he went home. But things weren't the same anymore. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't go back to his ways. The wounds from his journey, physically yes, but mostly mentally, hurt too strong. So... he left Middle Earth.. and like Frodo said himself: "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold." The quest DID claim his life.

Actually it tried to be the exact opposite. It killed off characters and made a point that they didn't come back, mostly because George R.R. Martin loved the Gandalf died but hated that the book basically removed any cost of his death. Game of Thrones is about the socially powerful who, on their own, can do very little whereas Lord of the Rings was about legendary one men armies with very little political pull. Most importantly though Game of Thrones is about the shades of grey that mankind creates to fuel our own petty wars whereas Lord of the Rings is about how some things are inherently evil and some things are inherintly good and how people overcome that evil. Game of Thrones is a political drama, Lord of the Rings is an adventure. The two are, purposefully, totally different.

I have yet to find a movie trilogy or any trilogy for that matter that evokes the same feelings as that of the lord of the rings. The feeling of longing and nostalgia for a place I have never visited and people I have never met. And yet somehow I feel as though I have been to middle earth and that I too have traveled with the fellowship. They leave me with a desire to fight for good and peace in the world, to never give up, and to have my own adventures. They have inspired me to believe in hope, perseverance, friendship, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil. Every time I finish watching these movies I am left with a deep sadness that I cannot be part of that world. Lord of the rings will always have a very special place in my heart. No other movies have affected me quite like lord of the rings and I’m not sure any others will. Thank you for such a lovely tribute that captures the true beauty of these movies.

This is amazing!! I was practically raised on the Tolkien Universe, and it's wonderful to see a tribute so beautifully well down. I remember when I finished the books in middle school and my father had me sit down and watch all the extended editions in one sitting. It was a rush!! I just finished reading the Silmarillion, and this video gave me the same sort of chills the books and movies did!! Keep doing what you're doing, I look forward to each video!!

I would like to read the books too, is there any revision edition that you would suggest to read? I found out that there are many revisions and I don't know what is the best version to read (of course except the original ones since they cost too much)
@JustALilGuy5
@JustALilGuy5 4 жыл бұрын
@@joaopedroborghetti113mand311 I'm sorry this answer is late!! To answer you're question, the only difference between the revised versions and the originals are the Forward and Appendices. I'm pretty sure the originals don't contain them, that's why they're so expensive. There are no changes to the text itself. In any version you buy, the text will be the same. There are some very cheap versions on eBay and Amazon. I would recommend that if you want to start reading the books, read the Hobbit first, then the LOTR trilogy. If you have any other questions, or if I didn't answer your question correctly, please ask!

I love how Lord of the Rings, without knowing it, made some incredible inspirational quotes for 2020. Gandalf telling Frodo that all you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you, Sam saying that there's good in the world that's worth fighting for, and Frodo saying there are some things that time cannot mend and that there is no going back.

Rewatching these movies a few days ago made me realize how much nostalgia I had towards them. This truly is one of the best franchise, if not the best, and without a doubt the most epic one. I feel like other ones, as well as TV Shows, have tried through the years to recreate what LOTR did, but failed. This shows everything that there is to admire about Lord Of The Rings. The music choice is once again on point and I feel like it's an underrated statement. You always choose the best of the best to make your tributes, with so much thought. I could praise everything there is about the video but as whole, the construction of this and how you recreated the atmosphere and epicness of this trilogy is masterfully crafted. So much chills, tears and joy. So much motivation from this. It is your most epic edit to this day ! Thank you for making it really, it deserves all the praise it can get ! FOR SLYFER !

A thought or two, for what it’s worth: Tolkien’s vision includes the dark things as well, and our world wouldn’t be complete without them. Why? It is only in the presence of the dark things that we learn who we truly are and for what our hearts ultimately yearn. This is because in the presence of the dark things, humanity is forced to make a choice about who and what they will follow eternally. We must have that purgative journey to become Children of the Light. In life, then, our purpose is the journey; how each of us defines ourself when faced with “the dark Lords” of this world. That is why in Christian thought, although Evil has been ultimately conquered, it still remains here in this existence. God uses it to bring about the Good.

I feel bad for the kids today. In my preteens and early teens me, my brother and many of my friends watched this trilogy religiously. The way this series sparked our imagination as boys was great. We all knew the stories inside and out, and would make up our own stories about Middle Earth all the time. What do the 12 year olds of today have that compares? I wonder if it was just my childhood innocence that made these movies so magical but when I come back and see stuff like this I'm convinced that they just don't make em like they used to... It even looks better than modern fantasy. So dialed in on the art direction...

I'm a big fantasy/star wars fan. Indeed, my favourite stand alone film of all time is The Empire Strikes Back and always will be. Nothing will change this for me, nothing! However, lotr viewed as a single 11hour + movie, which is what it is, is unbeatable. Lucas, cameron, Spielberg and Scott, some of the greats, will never ever better this, or even have the opportunity to try. When we participate in these polls for greatest movie ever, we need to look at these 3 films as a single entity. Lets be honest, this is never ever ever ever! gonna be bested. In terms of budgets, the wonderful scenic settings, the effects, storyline, music score and acting, this should be everyone's fave movie of all time. I watch the extented versions of these, every 2/3 years and never tire of them. What we have here is what's known as perfection.

“For Frodo” such a powerful scene. The mouth of Sauron has just revealed Frodo’s mithril vest and Aargorn is not certain whether Frodo is dead or alive but it does not matter; “For Frodo” works either way. If he’s dead then don’t let his sacrifice be in vain and if he’s alive then let us give him one final chance.
