It’s nice to see people taking a martial art and turning the original techniques into effective fighting technique

God I love your style of Aikido. I'm a Jū-Jitsu/Tai-Jitsu practitioner and I train with some buddys who are Aikidokas regularly but they don't do their stuff as hard and crisp as you guys. Your way of doing it appeals more to my way of training. Simply love it. This should show all of them haters out there who mock Aikido, saying that it was useless, that they're wrong. Keep going boys.

Aikido is definitely real. The problem is that it’s mostly useless. I practiced aikido for many years and I love the martial art, but it’s mostly an art. Heavily relying on people falling and reacting in specific ways that aren’t practical in the real world.

Lenny Sly. I got something what me and all of your subscribers want. You said there are many types of IrimiNage. Could you show us some of them? Some different types of IrimiNage from a Kao Tsuki?
@SLYSCOMBATIVECONCEPTS137 жыл бұрын
Aung Thiha Phyo Yes I did. I created a new feature on the TenShin aikido online class platform. This feature is called Mastering TenShin Aikido and each month we focus on one particular technique and we demonstrate that technique off of 12 to 16 different attacks. The month of June's focus is on Sayunage. So there's 40 video's on Sayunage with a lot of variations. The iriminage month will be soon. So if you want to see all of the techniques on that amongst 30 other technique applications you'll want to sign up for the classes. www.roguewarriorstc.com and go to ONLINE DOJO and sign up bro. FYI i won't be putting these video's up on KZbin, they are exclusively for online members.

This was a great video. Thank you. I have a question: how similar is Combat Aikido to Hapkido?
@Jaredthegrappl3r11 ай бұрын
I’m now an mma fighter and years ago I had asked Lenny about his opinions on hapkido while I was still probably about 15 years old I still watch his videos but he doesn’t seem very active on here anymore. I recall him saying that he’s seen a lot of good hapkido, and a lot of bad hapkido as well From my perspective which is from a completely different background from Lenny’s I just think you can guide your own martial arts training into whatever you want it to be

For some techniques, you need to be very fast on your feet, if you want to perform it at realistic speed. Is there any good way in improving the speed of ones footwork?
@alexanderbalekjian16037 жыл бұрын
Yes bro. You can actually do foot strengthenning exersices regularly and also try to become familiar with this type of movement. Check the Aikido movements and just start practising. Then, all you need to do is to increase your speed while doing the techniques. :) train safely, peace!
@edi98927 жыл бұрын
Practicing strength and flexibility doesn't make me faster. There must be more to it.
@alexanderbalekjian16037 жыл бұрын
They do, but, nevermind. Yes, there is more to it. Practising the movements. As time passes you'll get faster. Trust me. Start with tenkan and kaiten. ;)

don’t worry about the elbow to much in the dojo we keep hood of wrist in a street fight no one’s going keep hold of the wrist actually it’s the first thing they do pull their arms in no way they’ll keep your wrist during all that movement been in sadly to many to count street fights growing up till 30.

@joeridestrijcker4457 жыл бұрын
grabbing the hand/wrist is called katatedori; crossed is aihanmi katatedori (or kosadori), straight is gyakuhanmi katatedori; Lenny corrected himself from 'kosadori' to 'tenkan', probably shortening the phrase 'gyakuhanmi katatedori iriminage tenkan ura'; so far my interpretation ;)
