2016 was an unforgettable year at the Spruce Meadows 'Masters', especially the final event on the final day - the CP 'International' presented by Rolex. This prestigious event challenged the best in the world and little did the competitors know upon starting the competition, was it was about to get bigger.
The competition went from being a $1 million purse to $3 million by the time the event was done and the first ever million dollar cheque was presented to the winner.
The winner would then go on to be the live contender in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

If you’ve never ridden competitively then you have no room to talk. Our whole goal as riders to make it look like we’re doing nothing even though we are as equal partners to our horses. The way we sit, the way we hold our hands, the way we use our legs and all other aspects of our body affects the horse’s performance. It’s our job to set the horse up to be able to jump these obstacles comfortably. If the horse did all the work then how come if we were to just a horse out into that ring it’d prolly turn around and look at us like “what the hell am I doing here” and then would proceed to go eat grass. It is a combined effort amongst horse and rider. And horses do enjoy their jobs because if they didn’t they wouldn’t work with us and would just dump us into every fence. These beings have their own personality and it’s their choice to work with us. They cannot be forced to do anything. The equipment is designed and chosen carefully to create the best communication possible between horse and rider. Without proper communication than the horse will not know how to perform because it will not be receiving the correct messages being sent from the rider. So please, next time you go to comment on something when you have no idea about what’s even going on, keep your mouth shut and your fingers from typing.

If someone doesn't do something like everyone else, that doesn't mean it's done wrong.
