Why did they close down smtv live down in 2003

SM:TV Live shut down on CITV in 2003 because when Shavaughn, Des and channel regular Stephen Mulhern joined the show the ratings figures weren’t that great and At the time, more kids were heading towards CBBC’s The Daturday Show which is a complete ripoff of SMTV Live because it has a music show okayed after it (the Saturday kids edition of BBC1’s Top of the Pops to be precise). CD:UK the unaccurate music chart show that would play afterwards would stick around until it’s closure on April 1st, 2006 (no seriously it actually got cancelled on April Fools Day) It got replaced by Ministry of Mayhem hosted by CITV veteran stars Stephen Mulhern and Michael Underwood and newcomer Holly Willoughby which ran from January 10th, 2004-July 1st, 2006.
