I understand using the reference signal as the internal generator creates a difference in latency versus using the external interface. However, in using the external interface, will my cables throughout the entire system need to be a specific length to cater for latency? Meaning the length of cable looping the pink noise vs the length of cabke to the mixer etc. Or am i overthinking?

Signals travel through copper at close to the speed of light, so no, nothing to worry about. At any rate, Smaart is capable of detecting and compensating for latency in the device under test - more in a future episode.

You can download the .wav and play it using the Signal Generator's "File" source setting.
