So many people take this game for granted. It had the great reversal system we all know and love, It was the first game to include manually running in any direction you wanted to run, the last to feature fighting in the crowd, the last to have an awsome soundtrack that doesn't include old wore out entrance music, the first WWE game to require only one button to hit your finishing move without having to press L1 then triangle or LB then Y, before 2K14 the last to include create a belt, the only game to show ECW a little more respect (and yes more than svr 09 and svr 2010), the last to have a GM mode until just recently, the first ever WWE game with the ECW extreme rules match with and ECW arena, probably the most match types ever, included alternate versions of superstars without taking up roster slots in the game, had the best graphics WWE games have ever seen up until 2K15 came out a year and a half ago, the only WWE game that had the mt. Rushmore of ECW legends in it, the last WWE game still to this day to have cheat codes to where you can unlock actual superstars and divas, first WWE game to include using the ref as a shield, first to allow you to bust YOURSELF up with a chair and doing extreme stuff to your opponent with it, was the first to allow you to do chair spots. And let's be honest the main menu for 08' had a nicer touch with the white background. It didn't look generic like the previous svr games and the 2 after it. I'm not saying it had necessarily the best gameplay, but it wasn't terrible ether. I'm starting to think most people who don't like svr 08' don't even remember why other than the fact that the fighting styles wasn't the best idea.

But if you look the bigger picture, the movesets sucked ass,they were limited(because of the fighting type bullshit that was already limited in svr07 but in 08 they fucked that even more) the 24/7 was horrible and after the first year it repeated itself, the roster at the time was missing a lot of wrestlers, and dont even get me started on hall of fame mode.

tips....hardcore and higflyers are my faborite but they are only ussfull on especial matches , braler, durty and power house work very good on legendary dificulty, showman is exelent on any dificulty,submission are only usfull in normal an easy dificulty but if you know use them they can work on any dificulty,technical are the worst nigthmare for the guy who play on legendary dificulty

well that's your opinion SVR 2007 started the downfall with that horrible ultimate control gimmick borrowed from Fight Night, WWE 12 at least went back to traditional controls and while the formula is far from perfect (they never should've deviated from HCTP-SVR 06) it's at least an improvement from the gimmick ridden SVR 08-11. 13 used the same engine under the Attitude guise and 2k14 under the Wrestlemania mode guise, so hopefully they are revamping the whole series with 2k15.

you have to be a hardcore superstar. and if you push x (for ps3 or ps2) and a (for 360) at there leg or head you will put the chair on that part of their body. or if they are on their stomache you can go to their head and push it your superstar will get him in position for a con-chair-toe.
