I love the Japanese coloring books. They are so sweet and innocent. Kanoko Egusa books are gorgeous… they remind of Beatrix Potter books (my childhood favorites). Enjoy! Most of my Japanese are similar to Daria Song ones (Korean). The paper is thick and nice, but a little smooth. Prismacolors work nicely (Chris Cheng has many gorgeous pages from Romantic Country). I wasn’t happy with watercolor crayon or pencil in Daria Song book,, but I really liked using jelly gouache as a base layer, then pencil. The gouache gave just enough tooth without paper damage. I also used Daniel Smith watercolor ground, with watercolor.

Fantasy season looks like my fav out of those. :) lots of really cute pictures. And the fairy tails eriy book is one I'll probably get, but I too think I should take a no spend on color books for a minute because I've bought 102 in the last year. 😬😲too many. Need to color these all first before I get too many uncolored ones passing up the ones I've actually colored in. Right now it's almost tied. I would love to do a show off all my books and completed pages. :) maybe one day. 😍

Sadly, I still have to order through Etsy as Amazon Japan doesn't deliver to my country. The Japanese colouring books and the style of art is beautiful. I am slowly building my collection. My copy of Eiry's new release arrived today which I know I am going to enjoy colouring in.

Hi! I just got my Amazon JP colouring books today. One is cats story by Nelco Neco Chika Akasu and another one is Rhapsody in the Forest by Kanako Egusa. These are my first Amazon JP order as well before this I mostly got my books from local bookstore and Amazon US. I highly recommended if you haven't gotten them already. Super gorgeous artwork with detailed illustration.

Thanks for showing those. I like the mouse book, a few pages in the one you bought by accident, that animal 2 page spread you liked, the map two page spread. I laughed a little at you saying you wouldn’t use much glittery stuff haha. That fairytale book is awesome. That’s up my sister’s street! Haha

According to the etsy shop i bought the first book the title is let's go traveling with wild mouse Yururi. I also bought the legends magics and fairies and fairy tales books from Eriy. I absolutely love them. The book with the bears is from the same author as the book with the mouse

Surprised you didn't already have animal Fantasy season. I have not found many other people colouring in it online. In my December 2021 completed pages I did the snowglobe page. You do have to be careful of bleed through. Enjoy :)

Aww thanks for letting me know, the fantasy season books is one of my favourites so I definitely don’t want bleed through! I haven’t seen many pictures online either, but I think the pictures are beautiful. I certainly am hoping to colour a lot in that book. 💕😊

I used Amazon Japan last year for the first time and it was indeed easy, and fast? I got the Ken Matsuda book, which I adore, and a book of his art and the 10 new colours of the Irojiten pencils.

@@maryellenthompson8261 It’s not a named collection, just 10 new colours. Search for “Irojiten new colours” on KZbin and you will find reviews. I’m not sure if you can find them easier now, might not need to order from Japan anymore. There’s a really nice deep red amongst other colours.

Yes definitely so wash and fast! One question Sue, what are the irojiten pencils like? I’ve been considering them.

@@ColouringwithK They are a hard pencil. Think Derwent Artist hard. Possibly harder, so it is important which paper you use them on. Some books are great with them, others just won't get the pigment off. They look fabulous in the packaging, but it's completely impractical so they have to be removed and put into a case. The very pale shades are too pale unless the paper is the correct type. I do like hard pencils though and so I do like them, which is why I got hold of the new 10 colours as soon as I could. Debbie of Colour me Stress Free bought a second hand set last year and she's used them recently and talked about them in a very recent video. I don't think she's a fan. Perhaps she would sell the set onto you? Before buying them, because it is a price commitment as they are not easily available, I would recommend getting a few open stock (I think Cult Pens might have them now, or Jacksons possibly) and try them. They seem to be a Marmite pencil. You will love them or hate them.

@@suewilkinson910 thanks for letting me know Sue, I’m not sure whether to go for the new 72 Derwent chromaflow which is coming out soon. I like a harder pencil but not too hard. I find the Polys fine to work with so that level of hardness is good for me.

I just did my first Amazon japan order too! I got Eriy's new book and her world heritage one. I think I want the fairy tales one, and oh my goodness the fantasy animal season book is adorable!! There's another book I can't make my mind up on yet, the Colors Make You Happy series. I think I'll have another Amazon japan haul soon, but after spending A LOT of my tax return on coloring, I probably need to chill out for awhile too haha

That London picture - I think that’s supposed to be fog. Not clouds. London used to be famous for it’s pea-souper fogs before they brought in smokeless zones in the late 60’s or early 70’s.

Import tax all included for me I didn't pay extra charge. For the delivery you will see them on the website together with the prices. I paid ¥1351 shipping fee for two books. It's all calculated on the checkout page.

Hi Janine. Yes no separate charges for tax, it’s all inclusive. Delivery was about £10-12 approx but it’s all calculated at checkout, so you can decide to purchase or not at that point. To be honest it works out cheaper than Etsy from Japanese sellers. It took 5 days or less to arrive which is mega fast (that’s inclusive of weekends). 😊

I watched the other person's video that you mentioned - she had a flip through of the Yuriri Mouse Sketch book. It seems that the paper must be very thin for I could clearly see the backside image through the page. How do you find the paper in this book?

The paper is not like create space or Amazon printed paper, it is thicker than that but is porous so some mediums may bleed through. I’m planning on using pencil and clear gel pens or glaze pens and pastels only (at the moment).
