"hair is just shape design" great tip. once you know the fundamentals of hair, creating interesting shapes are the best way to add character, volume, and visual interest.

@@MALICEM12 Yeah she definitely uses a lot of technical words. I really like her videos because she really expands beyond just fundamentals which have been taught to me over and over again. Her videos definitely are a bit more for intermediate artists. If you aren't really in a place where you are ready for that don't worry about it but I recommend coming back to her when you feel you are ready :)

@@lillith_thegreat Hard agree. There is SO much stuff for beginners, the internet is swamped with it. If anyone needs beginner stuff, just go find the beginner stuff. (Also dont...quite understand why they chose to put that comment as a reply to yours? lol) I will say though, even for more beginner-level artists, I think it's sorta useful to just start being exposed to the more technical language? You don't have to understand it all right away, you dont have to let it intimidate you. But that very exposure is what's gonna help you slowly learn about it in the first place. Especially if it's alongside a more simplified explanation. (Like "*insert muscle name* thats the one that does this here you see- *moves on*") It's kinda a passive immersion akin to language acquisition. Anyway yeah, at the end of the day, target audience matters. And I think more people on the internet need to understand that they're not always gonna be the target audience lol.

@@stevesketches the problem is......i don't remember those either?🤣 My memory unfortunately is quite bad, I remember maximum 3 names of pokemon, and a few gacha chars, most of the time I check wiki to find the name again. Game mechanics are different because it's a pattern, and I can remember muscle positioning because it's also a pattern. The problem is that I have no ability to memorise their names😅

Hey ! PicTop Studio here, I really appreciate your videos and tutorials, it helps me a lot. I am currently learning all the basics of drawing before learning animation (anatomy, shapes, colors, volume rotation, digital art and stuff...). My goal is to start a KZbin channel and make it to the art community in the future so I can finally have my own art community to share my passion, works, and progress. So thank you very much for your effort in your videos because you actually helped me and keep helping me a lot. Take care of yourself, and stay safe Pikat ❤

First, let me say that I'm ever so thankful for what you're doing, Pikat! So glad to have found your channel! That first drawing, does it read "KILLER FLAVOR?" Cool name, would like to know more about the character... guess it's a matter of going after the author. Also... nice changes you've made: I'm partial to rounder features on a body, as opposed to angular or tubular body drawings. Of course, that's merely my opinion. 4:45... Funny thing, I used to partake that sentiment about hands. Then, one day, decided to make a "stress drawing," which entailed drawing lots, lots of hands, everywhere... like a "handpocalypse." Now, I don't feel intimidated by the prospect of drawing hands or feet, even if I still have some difficulty here and there. 5:11... My approach to drawing hair is like this: first drawing a general shape and going from that shape, making adjustments along the way. 9:13... Used to do that, doing a line to represent that kind of shadow. A teacher of mine criticized that, but he never explained what I did wrong. You explained it way better than he ever did.

ehh dunno if azz fix was rly needed. just cause clothes in front go into the "V" shape that does not mean that front of the pelvis is visible, i would just stretch the clothes so it wont be "V" anymore and its 100% fine. i liked the right side elbow fix, bob fix, more hair and some more muscles on the shoulders but everything else feels like a downgrade. thin hands just fit the style of everything being rather thin and left side elbow looks a lot better on the original tbh... the more stuff like this i watch the more i feel like art like this is just 70% taste, ppl spam the word "wrong" but it rly does not matter if it looks good in the first place

How do you remember? Hooooowwwww
@Lmaonope20087 ай бұрын
Repetition. In order to commit things to memory, you kind of just have to do it + think about it often? Kinda like how practicing words with flash cards one time doesn’t help, but practicing flash cards for a week means you remember more and longer. To translate that to art terms, it means you should consider writing it down and checking all your drawings for those mistakes! the key is to not zone out when you draw, but to do things with purpose as well. For example “I’m going to put the eyes here, because it matches the skull” or “this shading here makes sense because it is accurate to the light source” it also comes from diligent practice and studying. Those two need eachother. Practice without study can only get you so far, so remember to look at real things! Realism and practicality aren’t fun sometimes, but I promise they’ll make your drawings a hell of a lot better.
