In the last couple of weeks, I bought 3 digital patterns from you. I made my first real dress with the ROSA pattern and I am in love. Its like an addiction. I cut already the Hazel dress modified from your bed sheets video. I cant wait to start. Since I discovered your channel I have watched your videos over and over again. Its nice to see a content creator that shows all the measurements on cms and mts. Its so difficult to find this kinda content in english and in youtube. I wish more were like you. Your videos have help me so much to understand. From a dyslexic point of view, everything is so easy to understand. I cant wait to see what other patterns, hacks and sewing adventures are for your ahead. I will be watching and supporting you. All the best from Austria 🇦🇹

Hello from the desert of Arizona, US. Pumpkin pie tips: There are two kinds of canned pumpkin. The kind I buy is pumpkin puree, which only contains the cooked pureed pumpkin and that is what I use and I add other ingredients to it. The other kind of canned pumpkin is pumpkin pie mix, which contains milk and other ingredients, but limits you on adding things. The puree is more likely to "set up" after baking. Also, if you are using canned milk, in the U.S. we have evaporated milk (not sweetened) and condensed milk (has lots of sugar and a syrupy, gooey texture), so you'll want to choose the correct canned milk for best results from a recipe. There are many pumpkin pie recipes, but if you start with pumpkin puree, I think you will be happier with the end result. Another tip is to pre-bake your pie crust. The channel PreppyKitchen has a recipe for velvety smooth "perfect pumpkin pie" as well as a "pie crust recipe." Good luck!

When I was a teenager in the early 1970's, all our bed sheets were floral. I remember feeling very swish when plain sheets became the norm and mum bought them instead. Now I love the vintage floral sheets!! Great video Janelle. And those new sandals are awesome.

American here! Here's my family's homemade pumpkin pie filling recipe (makes two pies). Hopefully the directions aren't too vague and ours lives up to the American pumpkin pies that you've had before! Ingredients: 3c pumpkin 2c sugar 2 Tbsp flour 2 Tbsp melted butter (optional) 4 eggs 1 tsp pumpkin spice 1 tsp salt 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 2 tsp vanilla extract dash of black pepper 1 & 1/4 c milk (as needed) Mix well and put in two pie shells, homemade or store-bought. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees F.

Thank you for the recipe ! I had some left over squash I had from when I made soup earlier this week so I tried your recipe and it's pretty good. I've never had pumkin pie so I have no idea what it's supposed to taste like though...

@@emmanuelleh7218 And I've never had squash pie, so I'm glad my family's recipe worked so well for you! I definitely recommend pumpkin (and maybe you'll find out which filling you prefer) - it's always been one of my favorite pies. We usually use pumpkin that we have grown in our garden that we have peeled the skin off by softening it in a pot of hot water on the stove, mash, and then freeze for later use.

I tried out a classic Betty Crocker pumpkin pie filling recipe last year and it turned out great! It was a recipe from a reissue of the original 1950s Betty Crocker Cookbook, which is really cute and organized, though definitely has some outdated life advice in there lol. I also used the crust recipe which turned out great, though it does use shortening, but I used a coconut oil based shortening that worked out great!

Hello from WV, for any pumpkin recipe I use the spice mixture of 1tsp cinnamon, 1/2tsp ginger and 1/4 tsp cloves. This will make one pie. I adjust as needed (double the spices…etc) if I double the recipe or I am making pumpkin bread. The best pumpkin pie recipe I have ever found is the original Libby’s famous pumpkin pie. I don’t use as much salt as is called for. I only use a pinch. Happy baking :)

Can't directly recommend it, as I haven't made it (the only thing I've ever made with pumpkin is soup!) but if you have left over canned pumpkin and you're looking for something different to make, Dominique Sasche has a video on making pumpkin bread on her channel which went live a few days ago. She's in the US (Texas), googling will easily find her. :) good luck - do share your results, I don't think I've even eaten pumpkin pie - it's not a regular thing here in the UK that I remember seeing :) One suggestion for a video for the future. For people who want to do like you do, to thrift material from bedsheets etc. for sewing with: what is it that you look for when deciding whether to buy something? obviously fabric pattern/colours is one, as is the state of the fabric (no stains etc) but beyond that - how do you determine what the fabric is made of, weight, size, whether it's suitable for dressmaking etc. You have a lot of knowledge and experience on this front in your head and it'd be great to be able to see some of that for those of us who are just getting started with it! Thank you :)
