I just bought one for my business. I’m still learning everything I can about it. Trying to figure out the best settings for stainless and bright colors. Also looking for extra mods for the laser pecker for doing larger cups.

Did you also recieve orange/red safety glasses? LaserPecker 3 has a 1065nm Laser Laserpecker 2 450nm Laser. I think they just send the same safety glasses but they are useless for 1065nm

​@@slappymchappy I'm not sure if this system can achieve deep engraving (anything more than a few hundredths of a millimeter) but I use a system that has no problems with engraving or even cutting metal while keeping a very high level of detail. Even grayscale images are doable (I just made an image of the Cologne Cathedral onto nickel silver for testing before making the actual piece). But the price is way higher than with this system. The simple ones (all the engraving, with a rotary element for rings, bracelets, etc. but not good enough for grayscale images (but for Black and white only good enough) are between 12k and 20k, the better ones start at around 50k (the one I'm using was 56k). If you're within Europe I can recommend you a supplier or manufacturer of one. They are a nice addition to the workshop with many applications. Like I said, 2 watts is probably not enough for deeper engraving, but it will stand up to some wear and tear before vanishing.

You mentioned speeding it up or slowing it down, how do you do that?

Used the depth setting. The smaller the number the faster it will go.

I purchased a laserpecker 3 nine months ago and it will not connect to bluetooth. When i turn on the laser it flashed a blue LED for about 10 seconds and then red and blue LED lights start flashing ad will not connect to any of my devices and have even tried plugging it in directly to usb and still not connection. Support for this product has been a nightmare. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM?

Randy, does the item to be engraved have to be a flat sheet?

Can you only engrave perfectly flat objects or cylindrical objects on the roller? Or can you engrave objects with a slight curve like axe heads or curved hip flasks that have a few mm of height discrepancy from center to edges?

So you can engrave on things that have a slight curve to them but your focus will start to go out so the edges will be either too dark or too light depending on how far you go and how much of a curve it is

It is possible, just not really with this system. If you're ready to spend money on the engraving, go to a well equipped jewellery or goldsmith (ones with large amounts of customers may have laser engraving system (they cost 15-20k (the entry version often starts at 10k), so they must have enough customers for that kind of servic), the other ones often have the classic engraving machine that can engraving rings, too). I work with a commercial engraving fiber laser (asking price of 50k) and we're able to engraving the inside of rings. Or even cut through one (a hearth for example).

It can but you have to cover it with paint first so it can frost the glass at that point

​@@Apaulshi for this laser type, yes. Or else, the laser can't hit the glas. If you want to mark glas, use an UV-Laser. It can mark within the glas itself, too. But engraving glas with a laser isn't really feasible.

How do you adjust and calibrate the laser with the Allen key and is there an accessory for making the laser head higher for larger cups on the roller?

What do you mean by adjusting with an Allen key? I know they have a roller for this but I don't think they have an extension to make it higher.

So when I bought the LP3 it came with a second Allen wrench. So if you turn the head over with the lens facing up on one of the lasers there 2 allen head screws there. I figured they were adjustment screw for the laser pointer for adjusting center. There are no instructions on this and nothing in the Q&A section. This is why I was reaching out.

As far as how big a cup it that it can do as shown, I’m gonna recheck the tilt bracket to see if that makes a difference. But as of now if you try to put a yeti in it the laser won’t raise up high enough to focus. Thus the laser won’t engrave. If it has to remain flat like that it will need an extension to gain the distance to focus. I was wondering if there was a bracket available. But I’m sure there’s not and I’m gonna have to fabricate one.

Youre going to have a hard time with just 2 watts. If its just a few hundredths of a millimeter, it should be feasible with this model. Im using a 30 watt fiber laser engraving system that is made for commercial use in the jewelry industry and its able to engrave and cut(anything above 2mm thickness is not practical) just about any metals. But its not cheap (50k for this one, but there are simpler ones for 15.000 - 20.000€) If you're serious about it, check if one of your tool suppliers sells laser engraving systems.

About which prize class are we talking? In general, they are a nice addition to the workshop and can be used for assisting the normal work, too. For example, by marking the motiv/drawing onto the workpiece before engraving it per hand. If you're interested in purchasing one, check if one of your tool suppliers sells laser engraving systems, too. Ask them for help, they can answer most of your more detailed questions.

Its actually quite a cheap system. The one I'm using is 50k and for commercial use. And its not a top of the line model.
