Nice!!!! I did a similar size build, just me and my wife doing it, LOTS OF WORK, it was the most physically demanding project I have done at my house. It was harder than gutting and retiling an entire bathroom and shower. I did the pond in my 10,000 square foot backyard under a 90 year old live oak that was put in when my house was built in 32', and I put some large mouth bass in it. My 4 year old nephew brings his spiderman fishing poll over and catches my bass and then I have to put them back haha. A pond is a wonderful thing to have, great job here!

I looks like the pond is down at the bottom of a slope. Did you have to do anything to keep runoff from going down under the liner? This is just beautiful!

Yes, the grading at the top of the slope needs to redirected around the pond area

So… how does the homeowner keep the predators away from their koi? Having that problem with mine right now. Koi have been hiding in the fish cave for a couple of weeks and I even have netting over the pond. Thinking of having the pond removed and putting in a pond-less waterfall.

has to be deep and the edges of the pond need to be steep so animals like racoons cant wade in the water
