Karrie, I was a stay at home mom of 3 for 18 years. Until my eldest went off to college. My husband and I sat with a financial consultant early on who advised on how much we saved by my staying home. He laid out what it would cost my husband to replace me if he had to pay for the services I did for our family as a stay at home mom. Day care cost alone would have wiped away any income I could have brought in. All that said my heart always went out to the parents that couldn’t afford to have one or the other stay home. The chores I could do on my time schedule, working moms had to fit in around their working schedule. You and I are truly blessed that we were/are able to stay home with our children. I feel your emotion and gratitude deeply, I feel the same way.

We were the same Marie! I worked full time for a law firm as admin and after we had our first we looked at the same situation. We also wanted to be home with our kids, that was a personal choice for us. It wasn’t going to be beneficial to us at all for me to go back to work full time.

Thanks for this comment. I commend stay at home moms, I know it is a lot. But I have almost always had to work, and trust me, I don't get to clock out either. Once I am done at work, then I have to go home and do all the things there. It can be very overwhelming at times with only 2 days off a week. So thanks for speaking out for us that work outside the home.

I love having my curtains open. I can get motivated if the curtains are not open. The sunlight coming in helps me get me in the mood to clean and pickup around the house.

I have been a stay at home mom and homeschool mom for years . I was also a teacher with a baby in daycare . Working mom was totally different . I appreciate being able to stay home all these years . ❤ either way is work but I have to say staying home is so much better and homeschool was better for my kiddos .

Hi Karrie. Opening my blinds is the first thing I do in the mornings. I love sunlight streaming in, and if it's warm I open a couple of windows. Of course, the pollen is going at full steam now, so I can't open them as often. I don't like living in a dark cave. Lol. You did an amazing job on your son's closet. Zoey is just so adorable!😍

Hi Karrie. When I burn something in a pan I put some water in it and the boil it. Let it cool some and use something to scape it. After it's cooled dump the water out. If there is some burnt bits I use some baking soda and scrub or repeat the boiling process. This has always worked for me😊

I make my coffee first thing, then I open the curtains and raise the blinds!!! Sometimes in the summer because it's so hot, I keep them closed until the sun goes over. You were getting it done today!!! I hope you have a great week!!!!

My husband and I moved into our home almost 8 years ago. We have a Bosch dishwasher that we think the previous owners put it in the house- so it’s probably 12-13 years old. We love it! Very quiet . I do keep it clean and wash the filters periodically but happy to have an appliance that lasts! We were in our prior home for 12 years and in that time had 2 dishwashers. We redid our kitchen 4 years ago and the GE microwave we put in the kitchen already pooped out and we replaced it with a bosch.

Hey Karrie! I was a stay at home mom of three beautiful boys and nothing in this world could be more rewarding on your worst day it’s still your best day! I open my shades every morning throughout my house it’s the first thing I do and in the evening I pull them down. It’s been a real emotional thing and also a trigger for me since my husband passed away. In the evening when I pull down the shades I don’t know it’s kind of like marking a calendar another day without him the end of the day and I tried to leave them open at night and I just can’t do it it feels like the whole world could see me like I’m in a fishbowl, even though no one‘s looking lol😳🤪 Also letting the sun ☀️in makes your space feel bigger & my dogs love looking outside. 😍

For burned on pans - put a little dishwasher detergent in the pan and soak for a while. It lifts the burned on debris like butter.

I never close my curtains. where I live my house is tidy and I've got use to people looking it is only those that live next to me. If by chance someone that looks in and I don't know them I save they soon look away lol. The natural light that comes in makes me happy mentally xx

I don't open any curtains at all but all of my curtains are sheers so they let light in for my plants but no one can see in during the day (I can see out) and I will only have blackouts up in my bedroom for winter to keep warmth in and help me sleep better. So will have to open those everyday for my plants but the rest of the house (as well as bedrooms) have all sheers up

for really burnt pots and pans, try spraying on any oven cleaner product and letting it sit for like 15 minutes minimum, it really cuts through the burnt grease and makes the scrubbing easier! if you have one of those plastic dish brushes with a flat scraper part on the end, you can also use that no problem cause it won’t scratch the pan like metal will.

yes, oh yes your right. Being a stay at home mom is harder then people realize. I was a stay at home mom of 4 , yes 4 kids . Dont know what i was thinking. No Sick days . No bonus checks. You are on duty and call 24 / 7. Not to mention cooking, oh Jesus , washing clothes , being a taxi the list goes on, and on..... now my babies are 33, 28, 22, 21. and 3 grandbabies. Now im 56 yr old and wore completly, i mean complety wore out . I cant keep up with nothing. My daughter in law says to me all the time, i dont know how you done it , and says she only has 2 . I tell her thats why i cant keep up no more.. But Kerri Im super proud of you, i really am . Sending good vibes your way.

Thank you for talking about the mental workload. I have been in the medical field for 15 years, now I'm a full time working mom, but I stayed home with 3 kids for 3 years during the height of the pandemic and it was HARD , I couldn't figure out why I didn't have all my 💩 together ,and just when I got into a groove I went back to work, and now my house isn't ever fully clean. 🤣 it's a tough and wonderful job.

I live in a rural area so I don't have any curtains on my windows. There are blinds on the bathroom window, plus shades on several windows that get pulled down when the summer sun pours in, but by noon they're back up. Too beautiful a view to hide behind window coverings.

My daughter burnt up one of my pans the other the night cooking peppers and sausage. The best thing I have found is bar keepers friend my mother in love told me about this year's ago and it works great.

Haha I open the curtains & blinds every day! I do understand wanting everything closed too though. Sometimes I want it to be a cave… once it starts getting dark I close everything up! Thanks for being honest and real with the cleaning. We only have 1 dog but he’s a hairy one (golden retriever) and our baseboards are never clean 😩
