Dreadfully impractical design. No privacy or sound barrier between the loft bedroom and the rest of the house. Nobody can do anything in the kitchen/living area without disturbing anyone trying to sleep in the loft bedroom. Open loft bedrooms only really work for a single person living alone. Once you get more than that, they'd drive each other crazy trying to conform to each other's waking/sleeping schedule, or creeping around the house trying not to wake the person who's trying to sleep. That's an uncomfortable way to live and a strain on a relationship.
