Thank you so much ❤️ I have a tendency to go over budget if I don't plan it out ahead of time lol. It does help having the tools but I have slowly acquired those. In the beginning I borrowed tools from someone that has a shop, if you know someone with tools that's a good way to get started without spending so much in the beginning.

Love the new look. It was not necessary to remove the cabinets those machines would have fit; but I would have removed them too to get the new look you have now. I hope you repurposed the cabinets.

Thank you! I definitely wanted to open the room up by removing them. I've been saving the cabinets I rip out that are in decent shape, I reused one from a bathroom to make a cabinet for my office makeover. I haven't done anything with the cabinets from the laundry room yet but they're still sitting in the garage waiting for a new purpose lol.

I want so bad to put a shelf over my washer and dryer like this. And take out my cabinets. I have basically the same setup as far as there's a window in the middle and the two cabinets on the sides that I absolutely despise. They are old looking and disgusting. But I was not brave enough to tackle that. I'm cool with tackling the cabinets I think at this point because I have grown to hate them even more... However, my washer is a top-loading one so I cannot do the shelf sadly. I mean I could get rid of the washer and get a different one but my mom bought me that set and I'm just not ready to try to do that yet. But it's so tempting because I really love that setup! I'm going to think about it some more. Maybe if I take the cabinets out I can just do half shelves along the two sides instead of the cabinets. I'll think some more.

Oh I was going to mention that I also have a super ugly ceiling fan back there and I really don't need a ceiling fan in there. I want to take it out and put just a fixture like what you have. Maybe a different style but definitely get rid of that ceiling fan!

Maybe you could put a shelf higher up to leave enough room for your washer lid to still open? Or, like you said, do the shelves on the sides so they're not in the way of the washer lid. It sounds like you're in the same predicament I was in when I started my laundry room. It was so intimidating because the laundry room was in such bad shape. I didn't know where to start. I hope you can find a solution that works for you, good luck and let me know how it goes!
