This is the most realistic and functional AND aesthetic pantry makeover I've ever seen. I literally plan to steal all of these ideas! We dont have a real pantry in our duplex so we are using a shelf system that blends best and this is the perfect inspo size to base it off of! Your videos are so helpful and honestly make me excited to make our home without unrealistic expectations or compromises.

BTW don’t put potatoes and onions together. The onions will make the potatoes go bad. Weird I know cuz they are together at the store.

Great job on making over a real, working pantry. I also had the fruit fly problem and it took me 2 weeks to track them back to rotten potatoes as well! A tip on topping up containers, take out what you have, put new food in the container (eg, dried pasta), then put the older stuff back on top. It just means you don't end up with the same 2 year old food at the bottom.

OMG potatoes rotting is one of the worst smells in the world! We had the exact same thing happen to us one time...couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from, until i found the few potatoes that had rolled behind the giant bin of dog food on the floor of the pantry. The bin was always full and very heavy, so we rarely moved it...LORD HAVE MERCY the stink! LOL Another time, a package of pork ribs had slipped out of a grocery bag and under a blanket in the trunk of my car for a few weeks. That was worse LOL

My pantry is very organized, That’s because I have everything in containers and on wire racks in laundry room a cut out closet kind of like next to washer/ dryer and along wall as you go in laundry room. Dry Beans, pasta and rice on first wire rack Then my pots and pans which I do not stack. Plus vita mix, Food processor Stuff like that.. Next to dryers the cut out closet has canned stuff. Canned beans ( not the green beans). Tomatoes, sauce And vegetables. In my small kitchen which is like a galley kitchen has a pantry with double doors but, Weird how it’s done. I keep condiments, baking stuff, a few not much snack stuff. Cereal. Not a huge space but works, Small cabinet next to stove Is the condiments for tuna salad and chicken salad sandwich. Olives and mushrooms Like I said it’s not huge by no means but works when organized. I buy stuff I can make meals with. Don’t eat many snack stuff. Have my deep freezer not huge and smaller up right freezer. I love junk food stuff like that but, the way it’s going price wise we’ll, I figure if I really want snacks I can make stuff. I stock up on food for meals. Snacks I can make because I do have baking items. For the holidays and for when ever. I basically love organizing my home. I’m always looking for ways to organize better.

Thank you for doing a pantry that is the same size of ours. A lot of people have big pantries and the organization is not as realistic for us. Our tiny kitchen only has 8 single door cabinets so I have to be creative in how we store everything.
@lauratruthseekingWarrior2 жыл бұрын
I liked my pantry, until I saw this one, lol. Ours is a bit deeper than yours and I think we have an extra shelf way up top that I store paper goods, like paper plates, napkins we rarely use, plastic cutlery and plastic cups, we only use them for company. I’m thinking of selling all of it or giving it away. We rarely have company come over anymore, I could use the space for counter top appliances we don’t use every day. Thanks for the inspiration! I will start tomorrow maybe.

I recently cleaned up the pantry and found the potatoes had the same situation as yours. It shocked me. Haha... HelloFresh isn’t that cheap unless you got the 80% off coupons. We have tried many times and it was good. I personally would recommend it cuz the food are fresh, clean with individual wrapped and it comes with full receipts. I kept couple of receipts cuz they are my favorites and easy cook in a limited time. We usually order the 2 person portion meals for 4 people and add some extra veggies on it. Order 4 person portion is too expensive. It is just my thoughts.

My pantry gets a reorder monthly - it’s just a 24” cabinet style with 3 shelves and a pullout drawer. I don’t really use bins or anything; not enough room.
