Hi,maybe can you put a small silicon o-ring around a converter for rattling? I think this hack can work for every rattling pen..... maybe Sorry for my English but i am Italian! Great review as always🤙🤙🤙

To get rid of rattle: place a rubber ring onto the converter at its edge/top...thanks to Inquiring Minds, it was his suggestion

My 9013 should arrive soon; I ordered it in Summer Red. Looking forward to it! I LOVE my 9019, and the 9016 is as good. I also had a rattle on my 9016, but a fraction of a turn on the barrel, tightening it a wee bit, and the rattle was gone -- forever!

Great review Mr. James. I have one 9013 and writes wonderfully. Great pens the Dadao's all three, very cost effective.

One of the things I like about the 9019 version is that the gold cover on the convertor piston knob can be removed, which stops the rattle on those models. Doesn't look as good on the transparent models, but for the opaque ones it's a nice fix.

Fun Fact - The Jinhao 9013 shares the exact same section as the 9016 and yes they are interchangeable.

Hey James, yours' is the first review I've seen on the 9013. I was considering getting one but I have two 9019's and the newer 9016. I think I'd be quick to order if they had a blue one! Blue with sparkles, would definitely grab my attention. Anyway, thanks for the review.

Thanks for this timely review! My main reason for liking my 9019s and 9016s is their large screw-in converters. I also like the ergonomics of their size in my hand. So I’ll pass on the 9013 for now, especially since the price on Etsy is similar. Seems like an upgrade of the Jinhao 82 with a better, larger nib.

Nice review James, the pen looks to be on par with the quality of the 9019 & 9016 (I have one each already). I'll be passing on the 9013 model since I have enough pocket pens to satisfy that itch, and too many other pens in the pipeline!

Thanks for the detailed review and like for your work. I really liked 9013 (since I have a small brush). I hope this pen is worth the ten dollars I'll have to pay for it on Aliexpress (including shipping to my country). The ink color in this review is simply magical. It's a shame that I can't order the same ones.

Thanks for the review, James. I have the 9019 and the 9016. I guess I should go for the 9013. I do have the Heartbeat nib. It is very wet and for me writes wider than stated. One of the problems I have had with the Jinhao converts is that they do rattle. The 9019 and 9016 have flanges in the barrel to hold the converter. Jinhao 100 does the same thing but I finally found one that doesn't! I saw the price of the 9013 and may consider getting one and plugging the end to eyedropper fill it. Very nice review, James.

I got the 9019 Long Blade, heartbeat, #8 Medium nib. WOW! I was thinking about giving it to a friend who has nerve damage in her dominant writing hand, after breaking 2 of her vertebrae and having surgery to replace them. No paralysis, thank God. But this Big Fat 9019 ( same green as yours, love it), will hopefully get her writing again. I’m going to pick myself one up too, probably the 9016. I wonder if it comes in the long blade 8? I’m an artist, and LOVE THAT LONG BLADE! I’ll check. Thanks for your reviews. Quickly becoming my favorite. 👍🖋🙏🏻🥁

That may be why it was louder. It still rattles a little against the inside of the barrel as it narrows. Not big deal to me, but it is to some. It’s a great writer, though!

Here is an update. I received the 9013. I converted it to an eyedropper. It holds about 3.75ml of ink! It should last me throughout the summer and a bit longer. The converter still rattles using the standard Jinhao converter and it doesn't have the ink capacity of the 9016 or the 9019. The price of the pen is extremely reasonable. Nice in the hand. The Heartbeat nib is still wet but now I have enough ink to go with this wet writer.

Is the clear plastic more likely to crack than the opaque?

I can’t say for certain. I’ve had one Jinhao in all this time that cracked. That was an opaque 499, after about five+ years. I’ve had a clear blue 992 from the same time with no issues.

I want to try the 9019 and 9013, eventually. Beautiful ink I should remember it. I'm not a fan of heartbeat nib slits since they can't be tuned (at least not as easily (never tried them nor have I ever tuned anything yet though)). Thanks for the video.
