The progress on the F tube development in the past weeks was small, but considering the limited time, it is still a success. Sealing machine is waiting for renovation, I also found a supplier of P2 material for anodes of the nixie tubes.
Thank you for your continuous support!

You have nothing but my highest respect and appreciation for dedicating so much time and effort in the matter of keeping Nixies alive, I am sure you these set backs will look nothing but a scratch in the retrospective in a few years. You came so far, those hickups won't get you down

You're not alone my friend, pretty much every industry in every country is having the same issues with slow sales and inflation sadly I don't see that changing in the next 18 months. All we can do as business owners is continue to find sales where and when we can. I wish you luck as I love seeing what you are doing in your video updates.

@@daliborfarny Your graph was identical to us, During the pandemic when people had money to spend and no place to go we boomed, once the pandemic ended and we returned to normal followed by two wars and multiple elections coupled with the increase in energy costs sales slowed. We get emails daily for suppliers asking for work and those suppliers are across multiple industries not just the HighEnd/Ultra High End Audio business like myself. I have had conversations with other companies in my own industry where the question is what are we doing wrong and the surprise when you say nothing your not alone is almost a relief.

@daliborfarny I truly appreciate you sharing this journey with all that are interested. Startups are not easy under ideal conditions. Being an engineer myself I tended to have negative perceptions of marketing and sales. Until I became the communication bridge between sales and engineering. I think you need to reconsider your marketing position. Severing custom projects was a wise move. In my opinion you need to capture customers for current products. Get that revenue machine working. That will enable quality, and all the associated economies of scale.

Hi, thanks for the comment! I think I don't have negative perceptions of marketing/sales, these fields are just not intuitive for me. But I am aware of the power of marketing - people who are good marketers can build large successful businesses with often simple product/idea. "enable quality" and "economies of scale" are totally to the point here! The F tube should use both through the scale. I hope that focusing more on the R tube now I will go the same direction.. Cheers!

There's a few hot pockets you could tap into. Old bulbs (LEDs try, but they don't match - i've yet to find LED look alikes that fit the right theme), tubes for radios, tubes for (other) old electronics. I cannot state how much (within my own sphere) i stumble upon people who either buy or hoard these old glass based elements. You're already 50% there, you have mastery of glass, you have the equipment. Soon (fingers crossed) you'll have the machine to make these on the cheap(er)... might be worth looking into it. Just a thought.

Thank you for the Open Source Finances. You are setting a fine example for the future of commerce. I am also very impressed by your stance on not overspending on marketing, this industry only profits the platforms. What you could try is find out if one of your followers can help with duplicating your video content on other platforms. It provides cancellation resistance and can gain unexpected viral marketing for no further development of video material. Thank you also for taking the time to share these thoughts and realities of a small business. Perhaps you can have links to others who manufacturer clocks using your tubes on your website so that people can easily shop for the clock they like the best. Asking interior decorators who have a magazine column to review your clocks (or the clocks of your tube customers) could get the snob crowd to demand product. Having occasional product shortages is not a big problem and can be a reasonable excuse/justification to increase prices a little faster than the general inflation rate.

Once the puri clocks are sold out. I'd love if the circuit schematics or even the PCB design was made public with open-source code. Then we can make the clocks ourselves and buy the tubes for it. I think that would be a great electronics project for a lot of people.

9:50 Interesting. Almost all old lamps (including diods, triods etc), which I saw, had this greyish metal inside. So, probably, it has more advantages except "good looking".
@jeanbarbier9448
@jeanbarbier9448 3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure that it is the main reason, but that greyish surface radiates heat from anodes far better than a silvery one. When you look at power tubes operating at a dark red level, it makes sense...
@daliborfarny

It was developed to radiate heat, nixie tube engineers chose it beacause it was widely available for them and because it had the optical parameters suitable for nixies..
