I'm hoping you still have your Piccup, but I can understand you wanting something a little bigger. I was thinking of the Mayfly,but I needed something I could put in my truck. I thought I would use it more. Another beautiful build for you. Thanks for your videos.

The Piccup is a great personal sized boat. It seems pretty seaworthy so far and sails well. The MayFly 16 is very comfortable to sit in and sail with a friend or two. The Mayfly does get bounced around in the waves because of the flat bottom but it still works good and makes me smile.

No rules but 2 sailboat going to the same place is always a race.

great video! watching the Alpha trying to get off the beach in your vid I totally had de-javue. 2009 in 18-20 mph wind I tried to back off the beach, ended up across the wind with the main full and jib not up, dropped the centerboard just in time and missed breaking the boomkins off of a half dozen Oughtred yawls by mere inches as we screamed along the edge of the beached boats.

Yes, the Alpha was a little painful to watch. They should just have spun the boat around by hand first. Next time. Which boat were you in? I was already subscribed to your channel.

@@goodkebo yeah, they needed the jib up and backwinded to pull off that maneuver, and lift the centerboard to let her fall off the wind. 2009 I was sailing an Alpha, and she behaved just like this one! on Thursday 2021 I was with Dave in his John Dory going to lunch and with Eric s. in his Penobscot 17 sailing back to Atlantic Boat.
