As children I think a lot of us pretended our stuffed toys and action figures were real. Your dresser was a tall building where epic battles took place and there was a thriving metropolis under your bed. It was a lot of fun.
Small Saga taps into that feeling, but with small animals. Under the city of London there is a thriving network of towns, cities, and settlements. Wars have been fought, plagues are a real threat, and the politics are as cut throat as the human world.
You play as Verm, a mouse from a small town who's on a mission of vengeance. He wants to kill the yellow god.
I had so much fun with Small Saga. It really brought back memories of playing as a child. The fact that it's merged so well with the very real issues of bigotry and poverty are a testament to how great the writing and world building are.
RPG fans looking for a great story without the hefty 40+ hour commitment should definitely pick up Small Saga.
Currently Small Saga is $19.99 and is available on PC. I played it on my Steam Deck with no technical issues.
