This is a comprehensive video of how we do a small scale fodder system for our meat rabbits using barley in order to reduce feed costs. We have it set up in our master bathtub and have found it to be super easy to maintain!

does feedin g fodder to rabbits give them the chits?, and do you continue or not to feed pellets, and if you continue to feed pellets do you feed the same amount as without fodder, or do you reduce the pellets, and if you reduce the feed of the pellets, by what % do you rreduce the pellets in their feed

Would one a day be sufficient per rabbit? Or do they need more than that?

Great video well done. Just wondering if your barley fodder and hay can be a complete food for the rabbits ? Meaning pellets are no longer required ?
@bubuumanasye20802 жыл бұрын
Pellets are always required!

Pellets are never required. Hay is much better for them and this would be in addition to the hay.

You don't need to use pellets, you can use this in combination with other veggies and things you can grow for them

@@bubuumanasye2080 rabbits can do well enough even just on grass alone, they can absorb vitamins synthesized by their gut bacteria after ingesting their night droppings. Ofc pellets provide the maximum possible growth rate and reproductive performance, but you can do pretty well feeding high protein forage like stinging nettle, and alfalfa hay and combining it with highly digestible fodder, plus fresh nutritious weeds, vegetable scraps, and maybe a little grain or root vegetables. Combine that with a salt/mineral lick and vitamin D supplement, and you’ve got about 80% the effectiveness of pellets with a much lower cost, more self sufficiency, and healthier and more nutritious meat rabbits.

I thumbs upped this video until I realized you raise the rabbits to kill them, how ridiculous you call yourself a "humane society" shame on you
