Great design tips! I'm a psychotherapist and am moving into a new office. Designing it is fun but also a bit overwhelming since there are so many aspects to consider, such as where to place clocks (because the sessions are timed), setting up a white-noise machine, acquiring lighting that can be dimmed and brightened, and arranging the seating so it's both functional and therapeutic.

I have a home office, but I don't have a job per say. I am a mom of three, so it is where my computer lives, where I craft and where I keep all of our family/school business (my job!) One little tid bit that I like to share is that outside of my office window, I have made a bird sanctuary with lots of different feeders. It gives me a reason to look away from my monitor, focus my eyes farther away than about two feet and it brings me joy.

Great tips! I work in an office cube at work, so I have family photos and little DIY'd faux flower arrangements on my desk. And I use unique objects for office supplies. Like I have my pens, etc. inside of a cute coffee cup my daughter brought me from Paris and a Valentine's mug from my hubby. TFS

WATCHING THIS FROM my home office in the corner of my living room close to the window. I love where my desk is positioned as I can see the whole room. I can see if someone is coming as the front door is almost visible. The positioning of the desk in a room is important factor actually, feng shui talks about it too. I think I need to add a motivational quote. The landscape picture is a nice idea. ( the weirdest thing on my desk right now - a dish sponge, a clean one though ).

While artificial sweeteners don’t add kilojoules/calories, your brain still registers the sweet taste and anticipates the energy hit associated with something super sweet. Then it doesn’t get it. So can actually end up making you eat/drink more to fulfil the energy hit that was expected. So kind of a catch 22 and there’s not many long term studies as to the health impacts of artificial sweeteners. Accredited Practicing Dietitian

I have (half) a cubicle at the office, but my work from home area is just a desk in my living room. I use two wide monitors plus a laptop, so I have no extra space. I chose my desk chair 10 years ago as a teenager in college. $20 lime green chair from Walmart. It's peeling and falling apart, but the actual seat part is still functional so I don't feel like I can justify a new one.. xD It would be a good start to updating my space though!

I have a home office with one window. I also have to have the inspirational quotes up on my wall above my desk that I put on clip boards that I painted gold and turquoise. I too have little lights pinned up on one of my shelves that are battery operated. I also made my own light with an Edison bulb and a plant hanger to hang over my desk so I can see what I am doing at night.

I currently get to sit by the window and have the desk in a spot where I can see outside and out the door (feng shui supposedly) I love the hanging lights idea and the pictures. Great tips - thank you!! And, also utilized your video before where you put the marble paper on your desk top - I have that on my desk too after watching you do that and I love it...so this is 2 office videos that have been helpful!! One of the things that I think is important when you’re looking for inspo for a space you’re working in is that it’s something that YOU actually love to work in. I’ve had spaces that were modeled after other people’s LOVELY spaces, but after awhile they lost their shine because it just wasn’t me. It took me some time to figure out exactly what I wanted and needed, and then even MORE time to figure out what that would “look like” in an office. I made a video of our home office makeover if you wanna check it out! P.S. There’s a few little P.S’s on mindset when it comes to this process in the vid too that might support anyone here... Watch for those. XO

Desk at home is where I work. I struggle especially if there’s something I want to work on (which is always) in the apt. I’m known to choose laundry and closet organization projects over work, and then I end up doing all my 9-5 work at night, 5-midnight or so. Yes you can crash on aspartame (a carcinogen). Aspartame and other sugar imitators like fructose and Sucralose (basically anything ending in -ose) still stimulate insulin to spike just like sugar does. Hence, despite the “diet,” it doesn’t actually aid weight loss in any way.
