The question 'So, what do you do?" can be much more than small talk. If you plan a great answer, you can turn it into an interview opportunity.
► ► Question: Can you play the game???

--- Small talk, or interview opportunity? (What do you do?) ---
"So, what do you do?" To many people, this common question feels like an invitation to small talk. We scientists and engineers are often not very comfortable with small talk.
I’d like to help you see it as much more.
When someone asks you this question, you have a great opportunity to turn it into a much more productive conversation
With the right reply, you can actually turn it into a mini interview
I help scientists and engineers design and build rewarding careers in industry

Oh dear this is such a great video! I am going for my PhD and having my first international conference in Germany, and my goal is preferred to be industrial. I saw the partener enterprises in that conference are all super famous. I think it will be a great chance to connect with them! Even if I am not really looking for a job now. Thank you so much!

The idea of MVP is such a revolutionary concept, what surprises me most is that after the initial stage of early adopters, the expansion to the major market is another pivot. How about you?

I think the MVP is a great concept, and not just for software businesses. Hardware cannot simply be updated the way software can, but the principle of getting customer feedback before you put too much into the product is very important. It's worth the cost of shipping new product to the early customers after it's been improved to avoid the risk of spending two years developing a product no one wants.
