Some of today's common, more-columnar varieties for the Midwest include Emerald Spire®, Cinderella®, and Lancelot®. Often, it depends on which flower, fruit, and foliage color that interests you. Hope this helps.........for smaller gardens look on the identification tag for the scientific name of the tree or shrub that end with the word nana, your way of knowing this tree or shrub is dwarf sized.

Hi Enan! Yes, to some people the smell while in bloom is off-putting. Otherwise, the bloom in spring is magnificent show of flowers.
