Subscribed. What I like is that you show the real life of professional joiners. I quite enjoy those (mainly American) woodworkers with spotless shops and every shining tool under the sun but you show what I think is reality for 95% of working joiners

My bead cutting bit is probably my most used cutter. Customers are always happy to see it added to door linings or face frames, it doesn’t take much effort and tends to exceed their expectations. U see the moulding everywhere in older houses

It totally dresses up the openings! In the old colonial homes of New England the quirkbead is prominent in alot of the trim!

Cheers for that Gary. Great vid as usual. Love the bead frame look. Just that little extra finesse and it adds so much to the final look.

Hi Gary, try this one next time. Incorporate the the hinge knuckle diameter as the bead size so you have the knuckle and the bead all flush, do a sketch on plan and see the problems of cutting the hinge in 😊 it can be done i know I’ve done plenty times and it looks amazing and really elevates the quality of the job.

Thank you Jim, yes I know what you're talking about, I have seen that and it could be part of the reason for the purpose of the bead in the first place, maybe,, Thanks for commenting mate. 👍😊

Thanks for sharing, lad. Once found a load of old profile blades/cutters, but no one really wanted them.... end up giving them away to a diy'er who wanted them to put up in his workshop or display, I think?

Hi Frank, glad you liked it. Wish I kept some of the old tools that I had given away too. 👍

It's a long time since I've seen an old Stanley 45 or 50 moulding plane ! I bought a Record 050c multi plane when I was an apprentice and i think it cost a good bit of a week's wages back then.
