Bought an LE-901s in 2012. It took 13- months for it to arrive at a local law enforcement dealer. Came with a Colt conversion kit. Put a Vortex Razor II 1x6 on it. Shoots flawlessly and is far more accurate than I am. It sometimes seems that Colt is trapped by their continued mangled management but they are one of my favorite firearms manufacturers. I own more Colts than any other type. Wonderfully informative video.

I have both the Colts 5.56 and 7.62 rifles that have the monolithic rail systems. I had a Colt CAR-15 Vietnam era and a Colt AR-15 Sporter in 7.62x39 at one time but sold them. I wish I kept them for collection purposes but will never sell anymore Colts that I acquire in the future in I should happen to.

Hope Colt bring these back...slightly modified for some compatibility with AR308 DPMS style lowers and parts...If they want to be proprietary just naked sure we have access to spare parts....make these as common as 6920s

A little off topic but i found myself using forward asst recently. I was dry firing with snap caps. I have plastic ones with brass end for exctracting. I dont like slamming bolt home so i will ease bolt forward then use forward asst to lock bolt.

An extra piece of Trivia... I'm at 31:20 - have not heard him mention yet, but this is the ONLY AR-10 platform rifle that can be converted to full auto us a (NFA legal of course) Registered Drop in Auto Sear.

Great review. You did forget to mention that the charging handle is proprietary as well...longer than the AR15 and shorter than the AR10...an unobtanium right now. Still this is my favorite 7.62 platform. I like it better than my SCAR heavy and I think it's more accurate. I guess that's a relative term though in that both have more inherent accuracy than I can utilize. Thanks again for the review

I own one of these and I like it. but it's just more convient to bring an extra assembled upper and lower to the range. you're only missing the lower once you get to the range anyways.

Brownells used to have some but if they are gone, I do not know what to tell you. Colt stopped selling replacement parts for the LE901 which is unfortunate since everything is proprietary. TBH, I never shoot mine because I know if something breaks I have a very expensive club. Hopefully you have not broken anything but being proactive looking for parts. But if you have something broke, really all you can do is call Colt and hope the guy on the other line is in a good mood. Colt still makes parts for the 901 but they all go to support Canada’s C20 rifle program.

I bought the MARK series.. I think this is the biggest peice of AR crap ever built. I've had no luck with mine. 1. There is nothing keeping the firing pin retainer pin in. It can back out 3/16 of an inch. Than when you fire it gets sheared off causing damage and failure. 2. The trigger is crap!!! 3. Over gassed, constantly trying to double feed. 4. Now there is no parts available. If you have the opportunity to buy one of these, leave it where it is!

I'm a huge fan of this platform and I've owned each publicly available variant, le901, m a r c 901, and cm762. However, the only real failure I've had with the rifle was breaking firing pin retaining pins at a surprising rate.

It is 2020....did Colt upgrade their BCG to anywhere near the quality of the LMT enhanced BCG? AND does LMT have the enhanced BCG in the firearms they offer for sale?

The Colt BCG is completely proprietary. Nothing changed since it went into production. LMT .308 do have a enhanced bolt in every rifle. Enhanced over any AR10 I am aware. The parts do not interchange. The Colt is proprietary.
