I remember that day like it was yesterday. I lived in saitama. I was in preschool, riding a unicycle outside of the field at my school, and the ground started shaking. We came back home, some windows were shattered and everything was on the floor. It was a very scary day. But being 6, I didn’t realize how badly this earthquake impacted Japan. And I never bothered to research later on. Now I’m 19, live in the U.S. and am still learning what happened that day and how it changed Japan forever. I was in Tokyo for the earthquake, so I didn't realize that places in Fukushima are still abandoned like this. Thanks for this video. Some timestamps: 16:20 Stickers that state that fire alarms are installed (Mainly so that door to door salesmen don't try to scam people into buying them presumably) 17:14 The frame on the floor is some sort of award or license that they were given 18:55 The wooden board in the back likely lists the historical names of people either who worked or were the head of the fire station 19:00 The binders say 庶務綴, so administrative files 21:58 The sign says 防犯連絡所 so like "neighborhood crime watch" sort of deal 24:48 They had some leftovers that didn't sell 29:49 You were probably the most interesting thing they saw that day, instead of staring at documents they probably just wanted to see what's up

My girlfriend just moved back with her grandparents in Suzu. She said its the least populated town in Japan. There's a lot of destruction from the quake on new years and the town is almost abandoned
