Worked perfectly! Started first pull after following your directions. Thank you! This was a free mower & came missing the 7mm and 8mm screws that hole the carb and carb bowl. So for anyone in the future missing those: I used #8-3/4” and #10-3/4” as a direct replacement

I made the mistake of leaving the gas in the mower over the winter. My weeds are a foot high. Most centers said 2 weeks. The LAST thing I want to do was take that carburetor unit off!! You saved the day & month!!! I was very intimidated. I didn't take the gas tube off or the whole carburetor. 😢 I removed the top lid, two screws to the carburetor, pryed it apart and the little thing with the ball fell out the carburetor. Poured the water out, sprayed it and let it dry for a few and ALL is WELL!!!! Your video is VERY clear and to the point!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!

My Toro Recycle 19 mower would start but die in a few seconds. Armed with a carburetor cleaner I followed your guide to open the mower for the first time in my life and clean the carburetor. 2 hours later, it WORKED!! It’s not a professionally-edited video but it saved me loads of money, time and frustration. Thank you!!!

My mower starts but then stalls shortly afterward. I took the carburetor apart per instructions and I didn't see any obvious sign of congestion or dirt, but after spraying it all out with carb cleaner and reassembling, my mower seems to work for now. I'll test it more tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to not hearing the air-starved moaning it's been making. Thank you for the vid.

My Toro wouldn't start. Like others I leave gas in my mower over the winter, in 30 years I have never had a problem. New mower, problem. I always leave it full however so no water can get in. It didn't work this year. Your video saved the day. I can't believe the carb just presses on and off. I thought I would have to get at those bolts that are half covered by the carb, but not so. I love your trick with the cover to get off the front catch. Wish I had known that before I messed up the label. My fault for not watching your video first. Your cleaning worked great for my mower, didn't have to use the acid, just carb cleaner. Great video, thankyou.

I appreciate your video it was the only one I could find that had the plastic carburater like mine. My lawn mower would only run for 3 to 5 seconds at best. I did what you showed me without using acid. I used a needle and paper clip to poke through in my jets and all ran good. Half way into my grass cutting it happened again. This time I drained the gas tank, sprayed carb cleaner in there towards the ciphening hole, cleaned my jets again, reinstalled , and now it runs like it was brand new. Thank you for making this video. I give you a 10!

Good video and nice breakdown, though the one part you neglected was to take the white piece apart. Inside that middle tube there are about 6-8 holes that tend to get gunked up if you're dealing with bad/old gas or debris. It covers the middle shaft and the one side without the black O-ring on it, easy enough to do and often the source of issues. I suppose the acid does a good job getting in there but a lot of us are using straight carb cleaner and brushes with compressed air. As long as you've got it apart doesn't hurt to clean the inside of it - would hate to take it apart and put it back together without cleaning that out and find you've still got starting/running issues.
@maargubr10 ай бұрын
Just curious the “white part” you are referring to. I followed video instructions and my carb still won’t work. Carb cleaner lets the mower run for 3 seconds. Everything else checks out so that’s why I am inquiring about your comments.
@ProfessorMS10 ай бұрын
@@maargubr The piece he takes out at the 4:35 mark and zooms in on at 5:45. That's actually 2 parts, the pill-shaped base part with a tube in the middle (with the jets/ports you need to clean) and a piece that slides over it. That's the important part to clean, just dropping acid or cleaner into it may not clear out the ports inside, best to take it apart and - as I mentioned - use carb cleaner and some small brushes and compressed air to clear it out. HTH.

The air filter looks clean. When I pull the cord it won’t even start. I’m gonna put some of the the specs down below. this needs 3 things to run. spark compression and fuel. first thing i do is take off the air filter then squirt carb cleaner in the carb and try to start it. if it starts then shuts off its a carb. if not next i check spark. new plug check spark. has spark then its a compression issue. check compression. check your kill cable. is it pulling the on off lever far enough to start or is it sticking or stretching. does the recoil pull back. if so then its a bad flywheel key. let me know what you figure out. more info would be helpfull.

also its an auto choke on this carb. is it sticking closed or open? check under airfilter the flap should be closed at first then open when it starts. try proping the choke open with a pen. also change the oil. it is easy. and it is only 3/4 a quart. if you put in a full quart it is overfull and will smoke bad or not start.

I'm wondering if mine needs either a new carb or just cleaned. I have 2 of these mowers and one starts right up on the first pull every time and then runs fine with good power. The 2nd one is 1 year older (2017) usually takes 2-3 pulls and sometimes more. Once it's running it can't cut grass even if it's dry and I'm only cutting 1/2" of grass. If I try mowing anything more than that it will sounds like I'm mowing 1ft of grass and a lot of times the mower will die and then is really hard to start up again. Why no fuel filter?
@smallengineguys3 жыл бұрын
Fuel filter is a fine screen built into the tank. So again clean and dry tank.

@@smallengineguys Thank you. I was tempted to put one in the rubber line. Do you see any problem with doing that?
@smallengineguys3 жыл бұрын
no just isn't a lot of room for one
@scottbowling583 жыл бұрын
@@smallengineguys Any way that you could think of that debris could clog the carb unless it went through the screen that's suppose to stop that?
@smallengineguys3 жыл бұрын
@@scottbowling58 gas turns into tar. Ethanol turns into gel. Fuel line dry rots and crumbles inside.

I ordered a replacement jet and it’s the exact same size and will not fit into the carb!

If you are here you probably already own one of these lemons. I have the same gas cap issue, however it's not the rubber seal, it's the tank itself. New gas caps and/or seals will not tighten down. I also have the plastic carburetor issues. It's my second cut of the season and this piece of junk has to come off again. The dealer keeps saying "bad gas" but all my other lawn equipment fires right up with the same "bad gas" which I bought two weeks ago. Absolute junk mower, expected more from Toro. Stay away, far away.

Dave i dont make these. Anyone that watches this video already owns one. Not sure what your trying to accomplish here but you may be on the wrong video for warnings.
