I have had this light for a few years now... it's such an amazing light. Don't feel like I really need anything else. Especially with the extended battery pack.

I have two Nitecore flashlights (MH27 & MH40GT) and i use them in the Army several hours a week but my favorite flashlight is a chinese Fireflies E07. Don't get me wrong these two nitecores are beast's and i wouldn't trade them in my line of work with anyone else, but the E07 emites under 7000 lumens (for 3 minutes, don't get crazie), has a tone of functions and cost's 70$!!!

Excellent review, very thorough, detailed. This is an amazing flashlight, and one that "wows me" everytime I use it, especially when I put it on 6000 lumens. By the way. the torch does have a strobe feature, it also has a beacon, SOS feature too. To use these, you need the the light turned on, press the switch twice in quick succession to enter strobe, press the switch partway down repeatedly to cycle through Strobe, SOS, Beacon.

It's probably pretty useful if you live in rather rural areas and you hear some sketchy noise at night in your backyard. An intruder won't be able to hid with this much light at your hand.

For 390 bucks it should have reverse polarity detection that will not all it to be powered if you put the batteries in backwards.

I have the TM26, 3,800 lumen model from a few years ago and it's a beast! 6,000 lumens is RIDICULOUS! That said, if the TM28 is on sale come Black Friday I'll get one and will gift my TM26 to a friend.

The TM28 does have a strobe, SOS and beacon feature. It wouldn't be a Nitecore without a strobe.

It's quite an impressive flashlight . I think it's power is unbridled and it can be too much to manage at high output, it get too hot. Very high quality though, and you can always use it on a lower power setting which is more than enough for most. I use one of these torches for underground face inspections. I wish the beam was a bit wider and more uniform. Can't really use it for taking photos.

Looking to buy one but i want to know how long does it ACTUALLY last on Turbo? Like how long does it last on MAXIMUM lumin/light level before there's ANY kind of lumin drop off? Example: The Nitecore TM06S says Turbo for 1 hr. But it actually lasts on MAXIMUM lumin for 10 minutes before any tiny bit of drop off starts to happen. Compared to other lights a solid 10 minutes on Turbo is really good.

CAUTION! Be very careful regarding the type of batteries you might use... not speaking capacity here but LENGTH! The previous version, TM26, told how you could use a smaller battery, total of EIGHT, with two used together (in series). Unfortunately, NOTHING was mentioned as to how the two smaller batteries were just long enough (MORE SO!) to make the cheap brass leaf springs in the base bend down and remain flattened. NOW the only way for me to use the 4 18650 batteries is to drop either pennies or a ball of aluminum foilonto the top of the springs so contact is properly made! I must have emailed at least THREE TIMES regarding this, with NO RESPONSE from them. I BOUGHT IT DIRECTLY FROM THEM!!!😒
