yes, I can't get my villagers to become farmers and if I do get 3 farmers they couldn't care less about the zombie in the cauldron at the end of the bed or with 4 spaces between the bed. I've messed with this two nights in a row and not one scared villager - they just sleep and never go back to work - and not one golem. I could have made hundreds of cross with pumpkin head golems or simply mined for tons of iron in the time I spent trying to get this farm to work. Forget it. Easy enough to make - just doesn't work.

@@abadyoutubereh31 I don't think so, glass is just so you can see inside and it just happens that mobs cannot spawn on non-solid blocks which includes glass. You can use slabs as long as it is a lower half slab to prevent golem spawning outside the farm.

@@chasefernandez5841 Minecarts are the easiest method since they can move uphill unlike the boat. A zombie can just follow you up as long as it has a clear path, to be safe you should put the villagers up there first.

If anyone has issues with golems not spawning after a bit of time, move the cauldron out 4 blocks, so there's a 4 air block gap between the end of the middle bed and the cauldron

These are really effective little farms. I made 3 of them and they give a combined iron production of 750 per hour (250 each) which is great. I can't be bothered making a huge powerful farm so I'd rather make like four of these. Make sure there is some distance between each one though!

You can save a lot of iron by alternating chests and hoppers instead of making one long stack of hoppers going down like that. If you're really short on iron.

Fix for 1.16.4, I had to move the cauldron the zombie was in 4 blocks out and one block down. I also had to cover all the beds with carpets so the villagers didnt exit onto the bed. Hope this helped :D.

Try removing the black carpet over the trapdoor so the zombie comes to the view of the villagers

if you build it close to another iron farm or close to a village ( villagers ) you will have the problem that you mention i pref to build it underground (10 blocks under) you will have like 6 or 7 stucks/hour good luck !!

I'm curious, because I am used to door-based designs of old and how it worked in previous versions, but in those designs more spawning spaces meant a greater efficiency and less spaces meant more spawning attempts would fail. Is efficiency irrelevant in 1.14/15? By that I mean, do less spawning spaces affect the rates?

Not this design, the 3 by area is big enough to register as a valid spawn area and the 4 blocks register as the spawn location blocks. In hours of testing and timing over 30 spawns it averaged out to 46 second Respawns

One improvement, use a boat instead of a cauldron. The boat makes the zombie not despawn. Only problem is that villagers might try to ride in the boat with the x Zombie

Solid build but not perfect. Iron golem eventually stops spawning in Java 1.15.2. I figured out the problem. The villagers have to sleep once a day and not see the zombie at night for the iron golem to spawn during the day consistently. I used sticky pistons with a daytime detector to block villagers from seeing the zombie at night which let's them sleep at night. Another issue is that villagers sometimes glitch for a moment and receive suffocation dmg after waking up. So I set up a dispenser with a daylight detector that shoots out splash health potion to heal any villagers who may have received suffocation dmg.
