'Boys To Men pose' got me. I have a budget (cheap) neewer fluid head tripod. It now functions as a static b cam or lightweight travel tripod. Aaaaanyways - I popped a plastic cap off the top of the head and there was a bolt underneath that I could tighten to give the pan more resistance. Might be a similar setup on this one.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t revoke the top - I looked because I had heard that about the Neewer. Doesn’t mean it’s not there - but I can’t find it 🤣

I like investing in camera support gear. It doesn't get obsolete and greatly improves the quality of your video. One of my fluid head tripods is over 25 yrs old and works like new. This one looks a lot like my Slik-Daiwa ... good design. Cheers

it’s a great tripod, but it’s not arca Swiss compatible. it’s a manfrotto style plate with the option of a ronin sc plate. I mentioned it in the vid - I would prefer if it was arca-Swiss, but alas it is not

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Whoops! I misheard you, then. My bad! 😅 I went back to the part of the video where you mentioned this for reference. The cage for the ZV-E10 has a built-in Arca swiss quick release design. I assume you are using the small rig universal plate (1674) screwed beneath the cage and mount the universal plate on the manfrotto plate that comes with the Ad-01 tripod. Am I correct? Can you put the camera level on a table with all these plates attached? Also, what tripod would you recommend if you want to go a step up from the Ad-01?

I went "big" on an iFootage K7 head, because I need an adjustable counterbalance and true fluid dampers, but I think for $159, I might just get this for the sticks. I have the K7 on an older Manfrotto stills tripod, and it's a bit wiggly. If SmallRig sold the bowl and sticks separately for 89 bucks or something, I would snap that up.

Yay! I was specifically wondering about it's pan/tilt capabilities so thank you for that. Good looking solution for a tricked out ZVE-10 and a slider, and I am excited to try it out. Just bought using your affiliate link! As an aside, did you notice that Ulanzi also just released a cage for the ZVE-10 with the cold shoe on the other side of the top? It is enough of a small change to make me buy it and see if I like it better/worse/same than the SmallRig cage I already have. Plus it comes in white, so I guess worst case I can dress up the camera depending on the function.

Nice review. One thing I was looking out for though: if you let go of the handle while tilted, does it hold position or is there a sudden drop? Would need to be well balanced for it to hold I'd imagine. I'm tired of locking and unlocking tripods (and they never hold the exact position anyways!).
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
There’s no sudden drop, but it will slowly move. It has a counter weight

@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
I haven't tested it - but my bet is that the Manfrotto fluid head will be better - the stick (legs) though on that manfroffo are not what I would trust for a slider or a big rig. They will definitely tip over unless you have a small setup.
