I think it is important not to glamorize this stream, mainly because the pathway to permanent residency is unclear (if we take into the context of different provinces' immigration policies, especially Quebec). The transition to permanent residence is a short-term stream that was mainly a priority during COVID and had eligibility criteria - so not everyone could access it. I understand this video was shot a year ago, which makes sense because the stream was being advertised and popular. However, now, especially when you take into consideration the type of jobs most temp foreign workers are likely to get (which are mainly in the agricultural sector, warehouses, and healthcare - mainly PCAs and orderly positions), these jobs may not necessarily require university or college degrees that would put an applicant at an advantageous position for the express entry. Most temporary workers, especially workers under the TFWP, are in precarious and exploitative jobs because of the nature of the permit that ties them to one employer. In addition, as I said earlier, the transition into permanent residency is actually quite complex - especially if you consider the costs, credentials not being recognized here, lawyer fees, language proficiency, and so on. I know the goal is to make migration more accessible, but PLEASE, let's also tell people the whole truth.

Thank you for your comment, much appreciated. As you have rightly said, this video was shot in January 2022 and posted in Feb 2022, which is almost 2 years ago from today. It was quite relevant at the time and quite viable. I personally know of people who benefitted from this pathway and were able to secure jobs that gave them an advantage in their Express entry or provincial nomination applications. While these jobs are not readily available, the possibility did exist and still does… to an extent. But yes, it is quite difficult these days due to the current employment climate in Canada.

Housing costs here are $2000/month for a rental or 800K purchase price for a home unless you want a grim dumpster for a house in an unsafe neighborhood without public transit for the same price … the average bill for utilities and groceries just doubled in price, a condo in Toronto is 750K so you will be working every hour of the day here

And that is why Toronto shouldn't be the first option for an immigrant.... except they can afford to live there.😊

Just stumbled upon this video and it has been quite enlightening as I’m also considering the temporary foreign work visa route. However, I have a question: you mentioned that the applicant for this pathway has to prove they can support themselves in Canada. Please do you know how much money is required for you to show as proof that you can support yourself in Canada and how many months this money must have been in your account. Thanks and looking forward to your response.

Is there a work experience requirement? What if you're unemployed the past three years?
@SmallTalkWithFaith2 жыл бұрын
Some jobs require work experience while others don't. You just have to search for such jobs. Watch my video on how to use job bank to search and filter for such jobs. Click on the link below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/in20dWh5i9KKfac

Hi faith, i saw 'A person who has applied for permanent residence in Canada' is a requirement for the canada open work permit. I have an express entry profile and waiting for fsw draws. Will that be considered as an application to PR or only an ITA will be considered as an application to PR? Kindly help.
@SmallTalkWithFaith2 жыл бұрын
For the TFWP, you would typically get a closed WP and not an open one. If you wish to apply for an open Work permit, you can check the requirements here - www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/eligibility.html. Goodluck!

Hello ma, thank you for the information, please I would love to know, what is the Role of the ministry of Labour of Canada in this whole process? I want to know if its the responsibility of the ministry of Labour of Canada to take final decision to issue visa under this program or the duty of the Embassy where you applied for the Visa.

Thank you so much for this great information ... please do I need proof of funds to apply for temporary work visa after job offer from the employer ????
@SmallTalkWithFaith2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you need POF once you have a valid job offer. When you are applying for your visa, the job offer covers for this.

Thanks for the information as a British citizen I’ve previously applied for a work permit here in uk through Ricc and have already done my biometric but the problem is the LMIA that I struggled to obtain. Can I apply while in Canada as I’m planning to visit in October this year if I can get a job offer? Thanks

Very interesting video thank you! I have a person that is already in canada and is waiting for work permit but has a six month waiting period. What can we do to express this process. Can we get a temp temp permit or use visa....
@SmallTalkWithFaith2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I assume the person is in Canada on a Visitor's visa? If yes, there's something called an Interim Authorization to Work which you can apply for. With this, you can start working pending when you receive your work permit. I'm not sure how to apply but I think you can Google and check on the IRCC website. Good luck! 😊

Faith thank you, can lcome on tourist visa and look for temporary foreign worker jobs and then settle in .thank you
@SmallTalkWithFaith2 жыл бұрын
Hi, you can come on a tourist visa and search for work. However, because you cannot apply for a work permit while you are already Canada, you may need to travel back home, apply for the permit and return to Canada once you secure the job. During Covid, the government was allowing people apply for work permits while they were already in Canada but I'm not sure they're still doing that now.
@deaconobuasi2 жыл бұрын
@@SmallTalkWithFaith Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "you cannot apply for a work permit while you are already Canada". Been getting different opinions on that. I think I read on a site I can't remember that you can be lucky enough to change the tourist to work permit when you find a job. Confused now.
