I truly love this scene. Both of them weren't wrong in what they said: Chloe had been more or less abandoned for three weeks, immediately after her husband died. Of course she's going to try to get him back; she loved him, and just wants everything to go back to normal. And the fact that Clark's realized that he has no right to decide who lives and who dies is a great thing: it's a lesson he should have learned a long time ago.

After watching the first half of Season 9, I'm wondering if it was Clark thinking Lois was dead for him giving up his human side, b/c at first you assume it is Jimmy being killed, but after Clark sees Lois is still alive in "Savior", he begins to reconnect with his friends. Just a theory.

Chloe is completely wrong here.......just because he has the power to change the past doesn't mean there won't be consequences for doing it. He's right, he isn't a god. And I am sorry chloe is literally saying it's okay for someone else to die in jimmy's place but he will be alive....I think she's the one who's losing her humanity here. The last time clark did this, his dad died. No one in his position would do something like this again. I know jimmy never deserved to die, he was one of the best characters on this show and he was a truly great man but his death and his involvement in the first place was chloe's fault just as much as clark's, maybe even more. She chose not to trust time at a time like that but trusted the guy who kissed her before the wedding and was a serial killer? Though chloe was protecting her loved ones she was the one who screwed up the most. Sending davis to the phantom zone was the right choice if she didnt interfere otherwise everything would've went back to the way it was and jimmy would still be alive, but hay whats done is done and though clark could've went back in time stop jimmy from bein killed he can't because from his experience nothing good doesn't come from changin fait. Chloe has to deal with her own grief/mistake cuz like i said she's the one who screwed up the most while though clark is her best friend he can't always be there for her to help get her out of the whole she dug herself into he has a greater task which is becoming the hero he's intended to be. And in season 9 chloe mentioned jimmy once and no tellin how long since his death she all of a sudden hooks up with Oliver and everyone just quickly forgot about jimmy to me thats selfish and it sucks.

It was his idea to split Davis's human side from Doomsday using black kryptonite. Oliver just wanted to kill him. I don't think Clark was necessarily wrong though. He chose to believe that Davis's human side was worth saving (which is admirable). None of them predicted that Davis would be just as much of a murderous psychopath as a human as he was as Doomsday.

Clark was warned, but still, if Chloe is aware of it, she doesn’t nesc. feel the PAIN of such a decision. So from ONE vantage point, he’s a monster for not doing it, but he’d be a larger monster down the road WHEN it goes wrong. “It’d be better if you didn’t bring him back”. I’m speaking in hypotheticals of course. And of course your right, she had no right to ask that of him after already having saved her life! Especially so many times. ( Chloe knows that more than anyone). What she asked of him to do comes with a consequence when he interferes with human history. 2:27 throughout 2:37, I would never want to rekindle a friendship with someone like Chloe again after speaking to me this way. She basically called clark a soulless monster. That's cruel. Clark was right. He once tried to rewrite fate, and it cost Johnathon Kent his life. Im sure if it was within his will, he would bring back his earthly father, and that's not his responsibility to do things like that. Not to mention clark lost both of his biological parents on krypton when he was a baby🤷🏻‍♂️ he never developed a personal connection with them, the way chloe and Jimmy had. @@thomask70 to be fair, the death Jonathan Kent wasnt just from time travel though, because Clark died in the beginning of season 5 and Jor-El brought him back to life while telling him that "The life of someone close to you will be exchanged for your own." The time travel element just changed it from being Lana to Pa Kent. So yes Clark did change fate which lead to Pa Kent's death and being force to have Lana for a few more seasons.

There’s a possibility that Zor-El could have been the vessel of DarkSeid instead of Lex Luthor or Earth 2 Linel Luthor if Clark went back in time, and went to Davis immediately to throw his ass in the Phantom Zone before Chloe and Tess finds out, so yes Clark is completely in the right about his stances on time travel altogether.

@xOmniCloudx And another thing. This 'one thing' is BRINGING SOMEONE BACK FROM THE FUCKING DEAD. I've already discussed this, but that kind of thing tends to end pretty badly. The circumstances in Reckoning for instance, were engineered by Jor-El. He used the life energy of someone Clark loved to bring him back from the dead, and his attempt to save them just meant someone else was going to die instead. If you can't get over the fact that it was Final Destination-esque, then that's your problem.

kakp firah Honestly even 1 life could make damage. The reason he refused to help Chloe, because he learned his lesson from trying to save Lana's life through time travel. It's been 4 years since that happen so Clark is older and more mature. He wasn't being a hypocrite by any means. When he tried to save Lana, he ended up killing his dad. When he went back in time after revealing his identity, Chloe's died, when he came back Linda died. He learned the hard way, when you try to bring back someone or change the past, there might be darker ramifications as a result. It's a great justification based on what Clark went through in the past which Chloe's never experienced.

Jor-El DIDN'T take the life of anyone (yet the show acts like he did which is ANNOYING). Lana died by not paying attention to the road while speeding and hit a bus (that ironically was from them school she graduated from). I already went over Jonathan. Clark's a hypocritic moron asshole in this show because the writers failed at making proper sense. Just terrible logic there.

@NamanIV Clark altered time in season 8 yet again. He STUPIDLY told his secret but changed time since it messed up his personal life. Yet Oliver handles the same situation with little problems in season 10. Also, Clark did NOT lose his father due to altering time. That writing plothole always bothered me since Clark lost Jonathan through natural means. Jonathan had a history of temper issues and already had a heart that was giving out because he got Kryptonian powers in season 3. Clark IS an ass

xOmniCloudx There is a difference between Oliver, who only had one love interest bring revealed to be a vigilante with no powers as opposed to Clark being living proof that aliens exist, which caused problems for everyone (Cloe wasn't able to see her husband so he couldn't get the treatment he needed, Martha lost her position as senator, Fear and irritational behavior in the media, etc). It's apples and oranges. Plus it's been stated several time that changing the future causes more harm than good, which was the point of the episode. It wasn't a plothole by any means just because you weren't satisfied with it.

funny that Clark did not think anyone could die when he used the same legion ring to go back in time and fix his stupid mistake of revealing to the world his identity. Ninth season was a fiasco for being incoherent with the friendship of Clark and Chloe long before this scene, when Clark left leaving Chloe when she most needed him in the last episode of the eighth season.
