Kryptonite weakens him it does not fully remove his powers as the comics go on he learns to deal with the pain more and as such can use his powers in small bursts I.E short heat vision bursts. But it does weaken him a great deal and the one power it does take away is his invulnerability.

gotta love how these writers think: metal is conductive, therefor electrical current will be effective against an opponent made of metal um. no. you can't electrocute metal. the reason why people get electrocuted is 2-part: 1) because we're only semi-conductors (mostly resistance) and our muscles contract violently causing the jerkiness you sometimes see 2) running too much current through our bodies can fry our nervous systems and stop or destroy vital organs. someone made out of metal would not get electrocuted. they would feel just fine as the current passed through and around them harmlessly. you want a weapon to kill someone made of metal? just rapidly fluctuating wide temperature ranges as metals like steel do not adapt well to those. or melt it/him or freeze it/him and then shatter it/him. when metal like steel is frozen with a very deep freeze it's physical structure changes and it becomes very brittle and can be broken easily. I know it's just a fiction/fantasy show, but at least treat your audience with some respect and assume they are intelligent people.
