To those who don't know about the enhanced ammo, heres another little thing. They can only be used with the regular handgun and shotgun, not with the versions that Nemesis drops parts for.

​@@mr.crossover6633 okay, no idea about the maths, because i know for certain you get a maximum of 21 A powder and 15 B powders in the entire game (thus you can make a maximum of 120 magnum rounds, assuming you intend to one-shot damn near anything in your path with that demonic war machine. and the combining of ammunition types is the AAB BBA and CCC. see when you combine an A and B, you get C. combining two Cs together makes a CC, so on... in order to get AAB and BBA, you need to combine your powder in a very specific way (A+A=AA AA+B= AAB, and the reverse for BBA powder) in order to not fuck it up.

I remember getting confused between the AAB and ABB combinations, usually I would go with the latter thinking it would make a ton of shotgun shells but inevitably being disappointed that it made handgun bullets instead which led to a few smashed controllers. Ah those were the days...

Definitely. You would think BBA would make shotgun because B is usually a shotgun round. 2Bs and 1 A should equal shells, but for some reason its handgun. Same with AAB. Two As and one B should be handgun rounds..but it is shells. A bit confusing at first.

I've played this game for YEARS and everything I knew I just knew from playing over and over again. Never once did I know that you can change the grenade rounds just by combining neutral rounds with a gunpowder until recently when I watched a let's play. Also, I knew about the enhanced ammo, but never knew how many times you had to make a kind of gunpowder before getting to that point. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though. I never really looked online for guides with RE3. I'd just replay the game doing different things to discover different things.

That was actually explained in the games first 2 files (the red book and the blue book) It says that you can use the gun powder with the grenade rounds, not just the reloading tool. That's how I learned about enhanced ammo as it also stated that as well.

You can either beat nemesis and collect the gun parts for better weapons early while using the same ammo or you can mix gun powders to create more powerful ammo for the default weapons. The Eagle hand gun uses the same bullets that the standard handgun uses but it also has the possibility to fire off an instant kill shot to the head. The enhanced ammo for the standard handgun is more powerful as it pushes zombies back but it takes 8 mixes before you get the first batch of enhanced bullets. That's the trade off. Stock up for later or beat Nemesis early and acquire the parts of more usable guns early. The Handgun enhanced ammo is the easiest to make and you get it much earlier than the shotgun enhanced ammo. I always mixed the powders. The enhanced shotgun ammo takes a while to make but is far more useful later in the game than the Western Custom shotgun. The spread is more powerful and it pushes Jill back when reloading while pushing the monsters away as well.

[Reply to a comment asking whether it's more efficient to use the reloading tool or the grenade mixing technique to max out your special grenades] I just finished replaying the game while saving up all grenades and powder. I mixed them up in different ways while trying to max out either freeze, fire or acid, with and without the use of the reloading tool. Notes: - If unusable powder remains after using the reloading tool, it will be mixed up with the grenades for a small extra of another type. - Maxing out either fire or acid by grenade mixing results in both being maxed out equally, since A or B alone can only produce fire or acid, which is why points B) and C) have no grenade mixing counterpart. - There are different ways to mix with different efficiencies. For example, you could mix AAA and BBB with 12 grenades to get 18 Fire and 18 Acid. But with the same ingredients, you could also save A, A, B, B, make C; use C to make 10 grenades, so 22 in total; A + 6G + A + 6G = 12 Fire; B + 6G + B+ 4G = 10 Acid. The latter is an underbid, but your grenade reloading technique improves 2.5 times as fast compared to former. - The grenade reloading technique is a single scale, you improve whether you're using the reloading tool or the grenade mix-up. Startup ingredients: 19A, 17B, 60G. A1) Max out fire and acid by using the reloading tool: 76 Fire, 67 Acid, 60G A2) Max out fire and acid by powder + grenades: 118 Fire, 118 Acid, 14G B) Max out fire by using the reloading tool: 102 Fire, 61 Acid, 48G C) Max out acid by using the reloading tool: 65 Fire, 102 Acid, 42G D1) Max out freeze by using the reloading tool: 99 Freeze, 12 Fire, 48G D2) Max out freeze by powder + grenades: 105 Freeze, 15 Fire, 18G

The dumbo as I had when I was a kid, I did not use any of the gunpowder I found in the game as I thought it was "cheating" so I hid them in the storage box, hence I struggled greatly to beat hard mode. Silly me 🤣🤣🤣

You forgot to tell about the XP you get from mixing powders several times. The more you mix powders, the more ammo you'll get. Use A powders once and you'll get 15 bullets, use it more than 10 times and you'll get 23. But most important, this also counts for mixed A powders. Use A powders 10 times, then use AAA powders and you'll get 83 rounds instead of 55. (Or use BBA and get 90). Because the freeze blast does multiple "hits" upon impact, great way to chip Nemesis hard body, but I think when used against zombies and hunters, freeze rounds and acid rounds damage are no different

I first played this game on a demo disc that was included in the original dino crisis case... Watching this video, I've learned its a waste to make grenade rounds through solely powders as you get 10 Flame, Acid, or Freeze rounds, but if you use regular grenade rounds (which can be found laying around and aren't solely made) and combine a single powder instead, you get 6, which is more cost effective.

i just now noticed that the grenade launcher ammo poweders are color coded. B+C b is yellow and acid is yellow A+C a is red and flame is red and C+C is blue and C is blue which is freeze

@@cheappyv5156 I can confirm freeze can stun lock nemesis from my own experience when he is about to rush towards you freeze rounds have almost %70 chance to stun lock him make him stop for a second utility wise its more useful than magnum rounds but at long range magnum is better since its unavoidable med-close range freeze long range-Magnum

@@cheappyv5156 Im not sure if magnum is more convenient because I have tested both of them and clearly Freeze rounds do maximum damage to Nemesis it usually takes 6 freeze grenade rounds or 5 freeze round and 1 shotgun to shell take him down however with Magnum it takes 8 shots if Im not mistaken to take him down so in conclusion its good to be unavoidable but with freeze rounds you can take him down even before he reaches you in some situations so I prefer freeze over Magnum

I disagree, I prefer 24 magnum shots and 6 burst granades than 18 freeze rounds. 24 magnum bullets is a motherfucking unstoppable killing machine in this game.

Joaquin Pirotto 18 Freeze Rounds are more powerful, especially against Nemesis. Hitting Nemesis with a Freeze Round actually stuns him 3 times. It is extremely useful for the mandatory Nemesis fights at the Cable Car, the Clock Tower, and the Factory Waste Disposal Room (if not using the acid pipes because you can't line up your shots properly). Plus, Freeze Rounds don't really require reloading like the 6-shot Magnum does, so you can be a little more trigger happy with it. Furthermore, you don't need a separate slot for Freeze Rounds when you use those in the Grenade Launcher, meaning you can carry something else like a key item or an extra piece of medicine

I used to utilize Gunpowder A by making AAB, never cared for additional handgun bullets in my First play through and avoid Nemesis whenever possible. At the end I just carried the shotgun and 2 types of ammo. Oh yeah some occasional acid rounds for the worm and the hunters later.

About the combination of gun power mixed with grenade rounds ... it depends on how much grenade rounds u have if you have much rounds like50 you will get more flame rounds if you mixed AA gun powder +grenade rounds(that is more than20 for example = more than u had in video... the more grenade rounds the more AA flame rounds you get ...that’s maybe a new thing you will know about...

You can only make enhanced ammo. Also, its a trade-off. You could just make rounds using one powder each 7 times to advance to enhanced ammo, that will give you far less ammo than combining 3 powders at once, but you will get to enhanced ammo faster. IMO, I think doing single powders 7 times is better, since the game isn't so hard that you need lots of ammo at any given time.
