I did the same thing with a 2009 3795 Heartland Cyclone and went from California to Virginia and back. Stopped on the way at Yellowstone and the Smart Car was epic there. Very easy to park on the side of the road and take pics, also, I could get in and out of the parking lot way easier than other folks. What did you use for tie-downs I used Harbor Freight wheel straps and they held pretty good.

This is exactly what I want to do. My only concern is about the weigh rating of the ramp.
@greglara623 жыл бұрын
Any toy hauler's ramp should be rated for the full cargo capacity rating of the garage. Meaning, if the garage capacity is 2000 pounds, the ramp should also be rated for that weight. But check the specs before purchasing just to be sure.

Where did you get this ramp ?

Do you get much movement tying down like that or will it stay tight.
@StanStoneFishing9 ай бұрын
It stays tight, no problems towing long distances on bumpy roads. I sold the 5th wheel and Smart car 4 years ago when we moved to the lake. Thanks for watching and commenting on my video.

We have a toy hauler and I have been looking for options to carry a car as well. I may have a truck but it gets tricky when a vehicle that big is in the cities. Not every parking lot or streets are fit for a 3500 drw

dangerous to tow like this.
@mshelton996 жыл бұрын
I realize this is an old comment, but why is this dangerous? This is what these toy haulers are designed to do. I haul my RZR all over the Southeastern US in mine. The RZR is just about the same weight as this car and is actually a fair bit larger with a lot more suspension bounce. There is plenty of tie down locations to secure the car and make it safe. A little planning to make sure the rig has the proper pin weight (10 to 15% of total trailer weight) with the car loaded is all that should be needed, but that should always be a consideration no matter what you are towing whether it is a lawn mower or a 20k lb camper.
